I think that the dem voters are the ones that are going to stay home because they think they've got it wrapped up, so why bother. All this talk about them winning really galvanizes the Republican base.

"Media Try To Persuade Conservatives To Stay Home"

IMHO,
Include AARP in that role of dishonour with their "Don't Vote" campaign.
http://www.aarp.org/research/press-center/presscurrentnews/dont_vote_campaign.html

http://www.dontvote.com

Could there TRULY be any other reason that they'd launch a
"DON'T VOTE" campaign
for THE FIRST TIME in this election year?
When the great hope of the Democrats is that Republicans/Conservatives
won't bother to go to the polls?

Sure, AARP attaches some fine print to the campaign to spin it as
non-partisan and just asking people to check the candidates stances.

I suspect the staff at AARP would flip out if they got a blast of e-mails
like this:
"Thanks for your DON'T VOTE campaign. I check the candidates stances due to
your helpful prompting. Thus I've changed my mind and will be voting
straight-ticket Republican for the first time this year!
You've saved me from making a terrible mistake!"

"Does the media think that conservatives are as naive as libs?"

No, but since someone got away with the magic bullet theory, along with the baby-killer idea of the military in the 70s, and the truthful nature of Cronkite, we have witnessed a sea change in the country, perhaps a couple of times.

On the other hand, the liberal version of naivete could be predatory in its childish insistence.

Due to all the County Charter power grab issues, I won't be staying home. All the municipalities want to keep their sovereignty and identities. The county could mess everything up very easily.

Hey, spread the word to all your lib friends!

They have it all so "in the bag" that there isn't much point in worrying about voting! You have given up, right? (Remember to cross your fingers when you say this!)

The weather is bound to be nasty, and why bother? The Dems have won already, right?

Just read the polls aloud to them, and sigh, saying aloud "What's the use, it is over for the "pubs"!

Maybe they will decide to stay home, while you don the foul weather gear, and crawl over broken glass to the polling places!

I'm a "values voter." I value this country

Me too! I never considered not voting but if I had the MSM has pissed me off so badly that I'd be voting no matter what. What really got me was the story I saw CNN doing last Friday about how the Administration was all smiles to Evangelicals to their faces but mocked them and laughed at them behind their backs. That story was so patently and transparently designed to drive a wedge between Christian Conservatives and the Republican Party that even Jimmy Swaggert could figure out what they were up to. All I can say is that they must really fear us 'Values Voters'. I think all their machinations are backfiring and we're going to return a GOP majority to both houses in a couple of weeks.

MEssage to values voters (aka Christian voters who know there is a right, and a wrong, and a difference): The MSM thinks you are gap-toothed hick bible-thumping morons who can be fooled into votign for the secularist pro-abortion anti-traditional-family anti-God-in-the-pledge liberal Democrats by outing gay Republicans and talking about how mean Bush is and saying they have values too, values which makes them vote for socialism and eco-extremism. Oh, and they are great folks because they are more tolerant, and proved it by voting against interrogation of terrorist suspects.

Raise your hand if you are fooled by this.

I'll never forget in 2004 how they called it for John Kerry, but President Bush received 51%.

Most Republicans I know will crawl over ground glass, if need be, to get to the polls this year. The media be damned!

These days, the only thing we have to do is give the media more rope. They're hanging themselves quite effectively.

Combat liberalism every day. The MSM stooges will have egg on their faces on November 8.

I have already stated the folly of expecting the Republican Party to be representative of political utopia. While the two-party system is great when your side wins the need for a large coalition of constituencies begets perfect ideological results. A 40% Rino is still way better than a 10% Dem.

I am keeping a list of those "conservatives" that plan to sit out this election. I would then suggest that since they admitted to not participating that they should be ignored (not banned) by the rest of us voting Freepers in future posts for at least until the 2008 election.

I too am a values voter and I plan on voting the straight Pubby ticket with one exception: I won't vote for Olympia Snowe. The old biddy has enough support in this mixed-up state to win without me.

I should suck up to her... After all if I play my cards right I could make a fortune selling Olympia shaving supplies.

Oops! Did I say that out loud?
