I heard someone say that it is possible that less than 27% of voters will be voting..
So..think about say 25% of reg. voters determining the possible fate of millions of Americans...here on American soil....
Scary, huh?

Yes...and heartbreaking unless, as I have not dismissed, the silent majority is still in play. It could be, however, that a prolonged period of safety and prosperity has dulled the senses of a nation to the extent that not even 911 could awaken a once again slumbering giant.
The freedom to question our leaders, even in a time of great peril, is an American birthright. The perfectionists who demand that no civil liberty be so much as temporarily suspended are merely exercising their precious freedoms. I don't hate them. But I want to inform them that Lincoln's answer to criticisms from similar quarters during the Civil War long ago set the standard, at least for me. Namely, strong and foul tasting medicines are often administered to the gravely ill; but it does not follow that the cured patients develop a taste for the emetics etc.. Fears that America will become addicted to the steps being taken to stop terrorists should not prevent anyone from going to the polls in support of the Republican party.
The people of the US are more than strong enough to adjust things as necessary to ensure both their freedom and their security as the times require. We've done so before.

Yet Iraqis, under real actual threat of death, voted three times... and believe me, their turnout was more than ours.

Like our pastor was saying, if only 25% are voting; us Christians will have a greater say!
