Blair is in a difficult position because ideologically/politically he is nearer Clinton but the WOT and his support of GWB has confused things.

I get the impression that recently he is trying to be close to both of them. What with Clinton supporting him last year and then at the conference this year plus various conferences they have attended together.

On the other-hand he also shows unwavering support for GWB.

Deep down I still feel the main reason for both of the above is that he will align himself with anyone who can give him the maximum exposure and propel him onto the world stage.

How odd.....none of that action by Mahoney was reported by the national MSM...but, we heard about Foley every day last week...

I am actually surprised that the video of Ford crashing Corker's presser was showed...even though the reporter NEVER mentioned that part...they just showed the "showdown" between Ford and Corker...ugh

I blame the MEDIA more than dems...the dems are being their normal thuggish selves...but the MEDIA are their shills.

Two years ago Kristol predicted a Dem takeover and was so wrong he had to eat crow.

I've done a little surfing over the last few weeks looking for someplace that has the pre-election predictions from 1994 to 2004.  So far nada.  I know they screwed up, but I can't find the quotes or stats.

LOL...fried baloney!

My husband and I lived on that when he got back from Vietnam, and was finishing college!!

I made some for my kids one day, and told them that...and they turned their little noses up and asked why we ate THAT!!

I just told them, "because we were hungry, and baloney and bread were cheap."...they did taste good though.

Not till after this election at least...and possibly 2008.

However, if an attack happens anywhere here in the USA again...all the fingers will be pointed elsewhere for blame.

I do NOT blame Bush about this as much as Congress...

For one thing...Bush campaigned, even in 2004, on a "guest worker progam" type of immigration reform...

BUT, even if he hadn't ....we KNOW how little of what Bush really wants has gotten through Congress these last few years..

IF Bush had come out "shut the border"..and that is all...the dems would have found a way to filibuster that...and go against him.

However, I think he has been more quiet lately about the "comprehensive" part...and is making a big deal about the Fence legislation...so hopefully, some of what we have been saying is getting through to him.

Someone should at least tell him that he has a worldwide war to worry about..and he will be a lame duck...so he should spend his time worrying MORE about security.(the fence)...and let the NEXT, hopefully GOP, POTUS worry about any "comprehensive" changes to immigration...

I got a call the other day from a Washington DC pollster that ask me to take a few minutes to answer poll questions. Then they did not ask me any questions except what sex I was and how old I was (answer by Pushing Phone buttons),then had a recorded message that thanked me for all the time I took to answer the Poll questions. It was very bizarre

From what I understand they have preset limits for certain combinations of age, sex, race, etc.  Once they have enough folks from one combination they continue the poll but don't want to get any more of that category.

My problem, as explained very well in this post at Big Lizards by Dafyd ab Hugh, is how they come up with those preset limits. That's where their bias skews things.

I didn't mean to offend you by bringing up the heroic passengers of Flight 93.

I am sorry.

So..think about say 25% of reg. voters determining the possible fate of millions of Americans...here on American soil.... Scary, huh?

Yes...and heartbreaking unless, as I have not dismissed, the silent majority is still in play. It could be, however, that a prolonged period of safety and prosperity has dulled the senses of a nation to the extent that not even 911 could awaken a once again slumbering giant.

The freedom to question our leaders, even in a time of great peril, is an American birthright. The perfectionists who demand that no civil liberty be so much as temporarily suspended are merely exercising their precious freedoms. I don't hate them. But I want to inform them that Lincoln's answer to criticisms from similar quarters during the Civil War long ago set the standard, at least for me. Namely, strong and foul tasting medicines are often administered to the gravely ill; but it does not follow that the cured patients develop a taste for the emetics etc.. Fears that America will become addicted to the steps being taken to stop terrorists should not prevent anyone from going to the polls in support of the Republican party.

The people of the US are more than strong enough to adjust things as necessary to ensure both their freedom and their security as the times require. We've done so before.

Thanks, Rodguy911 for that link. I really wish that--as "former spook" suggests--the US PAO's immediately countered by releasing an archive of US sniper hits on Jihadists.

He is sooo right: why should our PAOs be so PC with the DBM?

(BTW, how's that for acronyms?)

It was not on any news broadcast I saw,and if it was not for some of our People Campaigning in the area, they would not have heard about it. It is in an area that is far away from Most big Media Stations. It is near Lake Okeechobee about 100 Miles from the 3 Coasts. Mahoney is starting to do Radio ads in my area since Satellite TV local stations are out of Tampa, and are a waste for the 16CD voters. His one ad is pathetic, talks about nothing except working for the Community and Unity and Faith which is directed at Conservatives since this District has a huge amount of Churches. Nobody knows him or wants to know him. I have seen so many Rat ads that stress that they have all this Faith (like Harold Ford Jr), and they have Military backgrounds. These were two DemoRat strategies they planned since the last election in 2004. We even have a lightweight State House Candidate that is retired from the Navy and he is campaigning in his old Uniform, We have a huge Elderly retired Military Population in this Area, and more than a few are irritated that the Guy is prostituting his Uniform for the Rats. The Guy was not even a resident of the District, moved from another State, and lived with his Parents near the district, then snuck in,and was obviously recruited to run by the Rats because of his Military Background. Any Military background will do, even if he swept up the Navy Yard.

That will be Bubba then..

Because I pretty much envision President Bush going to his ranch in Crawford...and maybe getting a place in Dallas, and retiring...

I guess he won't be asked, like Clinton is, to campaign for people after he is gone....since even a lot of the GOP candidates treat him like he has cooties...

Maybe he will buy back the Rangers....LOL

I've been cleaning out closets and check FR during my breaks (probably have been taking more of them than I should - LOL!)

Speaking of the military - have you all seen this! It wouldn't surprise me if the Dims blame it on Rove and the Pres trying to get ahead in the elections in the WOT and Nat'l Sec.

Air Strikes in Baghdad.

Looks like there's something big going on in Baghdad to night. Flares are filling the skies and fighter jets are striking targets in the city.

In the last 30 minutes I could see several aircrafts launching missiles and within seconds explosions would follow.

I will try to keep you updated once I learn more about this.

GREAT POST...you are very right.

However, I think decades of the libs telling people what they CAN'T do for themselves...and now, what the POTUS/CIC, CAN'T do to protect the country..has had an affect.

How else do we explain supposed intelligent, educated people buying into the lib lies...and even to the point that some believe that Bush PLANNED 9/11???

Yet Iraqis, under real actual threat of death, voted three times... and believe me, their turnout was more than ours.
