You oughta' be hearing Novak and Charlie Cook with Russert. They are shaking the chicken bones and throwing them down to portend the election. Novak pulls out his latest assfax and reports that yea, Republicans may or may not lose this thing. Charlie Cook believes democrats will win. Unless they lose. And Russert picks his nose with anxiety. Gawd help us all.
You got that right, got that right, got that right.
And especially in these midterms, most Americans, busy carrying this country on their backs, working the economy, raising the soldiers and citizens of our future, only pay attention, if at all, during the last week or so of the midterms. So when asked, they just say anything.
My own daughter, who I'd consider a little politcally in tuned, tells me recently that she's not going to bother to vote in the midterms. "Maryland doesn't have any interesting races" she says primly.
Why I like to have a cow right on the spot. "STEELE!" I shout. "EHRLICH!" I shout again. I warn her that if she doesn't want sweet Kaitlyn Mae, her daughter, to wear a burqua she needs to help keep the Senate Republican.
Well she hadn't even thought of the Steele thing going on.
She's not a stupid child, please understand. She's doing her best to raise a toddler, moving to another place (the DELMARVA area) for a better area to raise her child, helping her husband earn the money and saving for a house of her own. I know for sure she'll vote now but I am just flabberghasted. Merryland has no interesting races?
It's how the average folk out here in la-la see the midterms. Come time to vote I suspect a bunch of people are going into the voting booth and I suspect they are NOT going to turn over this country to the Democrats, I know it in my bones.
Meanwhile, the pollsters are polling people much like my own daughter, offspring of a political junkee mind you, and they are simply not paying attention. Watch those vapid margins disappear in the upcoming two weeks.
It's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I watched it last hour.
No offense meant but there are reasons why guests are chosen and why we continue seeing the ones we don't like.
For FNS, the common thread is each guest is they are their party leader of the two committees that are being talked about on FNC. I would guess the topics will revolve around current events and their committee leadership positions.
Lugar, majority chair of the Foreign Relations Committee
Warner, majority chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee
Biden, ranking minority member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
Levin, ranking minority member of the Armed Services Committee
That's funny. LOL
Totally agree w you YaYa. BOR had Sabato and some women Prof from Brown on the other night. I only caught part of it but the discussion was around the press and how they've been to Klintoon and Bush. Even Sabato (big surprise!) agreed w BOR that the attacks against Pres Bush are much more personal and many more than against Clinton. He pointed out how many articles the NY Slimes alone has written.
The 23 day rampage of the Beltway snipers in October 2002, Muhammad and Malvo, placed the entire DC area in a state of panic. People were afraid to go out of their homes to gas their cars or go shopping. Terrorism works. I wonder if our society could stand what the average Iraqi is experiencing every day or if our politicians would be as courageous if they and their families were the targets of assassination.
Me too!
Beltway voices. They're a chorus.
No honest person can say that there are no acts of heroism or good works being done by our military in Iraq...no one. How many stories has CNN done on any of these????? HOW MANY???? The truth is NOT what they are about.
I've had my fill for today. I am ready for some football. Yes, I actually said that. :)
That looks like giant peppermint cream
So what! Is she claiming that you can't blow people up with uranium.
I watched part of the debate between her Heinous and Spencer last night. I didn't know much about Spencer but was somewhat impressed with him. He was on top of every question, got a few slams in against Hitlery and had a good demeanor. I though he looked like a Senator (if one was casting for a movie). OTOH, Hill looked down a lot, didn't look at the camera, etc., and, of course, gave her regular spin or skirted answering the questions. She also had that same pink blouse and old crusty on.
Spencer, to my pleasant surprise, got quite a few applause, but, of course, we all know who unfortunately will win the race.
What a great comment!!! I plan on using that in the near future.
Not only that; why Harmon turning to Ted Olson. Strange alliance here. What's the story
LOL! I just posted something similar (though I like your post better)
Starbucks is the answer lady Rush!!
