I wish they would get some really intelligent people to talk about the issues.

I wish they would choose some really intelligent person to host FNS. There is ton of shows targetting liberal viewers. Why not have some nonest conservative who would give assured ratings?

:) very much

CNN Reliable Sources:

I flip in as they play Rush interview Cheney, and Kurtz saying Bush is courting talk radio. Michael Medved said it wasn't a private meeting, he says he's amazed NYT covered the White House meeting with talkers, one month after it happened.

Rachel Maddow, lefty, isn't surprised at the meeting, it was about how to malign the MSN, she says, .it's what they do. She says the country is anti-Republican right now. She calls talk shows "right wing". She calls flaming left wingnut radio talk shows, "progressive"

John Dickerson says the president is revving the base with this meeting.

Kurtz calls it "the Bush Blitz" courting conservatives.

Medved BLESS HIM points out CNN's Broken Government series is one October Surprise.

Evidently Bush is having a "right wing" talk show summit this week? I hadn't heard.

Kurtz does show a snippet of Stephanopolis interviewing Bush.

(I didn't know John Dickerson, formerly of ABC, now of SLATE, was Nancy Dickerson's son. He's written a book about her... a reporter I remember from years ago.

Kurtz asked Rachel about Air America's bankruptcy. "its just a question if the business model can keep up with the talent", she says. (I think that was supposed to be funny.)

Kurtz asks all if CNN should have showed the Sniper video:
Medved says it's propaganda film prepared by the enemy, and points how NYT Friedman predicted insurgents would use MSM for propaganda. He points out the BIG lie of it, how the snipers are heard to say, "don't hit Iraqis", when we know they hit Iraqis all the time.

Dickerson says it's ok since CNN made clear the video came from the insurgents themselves.

Rachel says not doing terrorists insurgents any favor by showing this, it just helps us better understand insurgents. .

LMAO "Head On HEAD ON, HEAD ON is a sponsor!!

Watching Fox. Two things really clear. Biden and Levin just hate "cut and run" and are starting something new--"walk and talk." Just like the President says.

Second thing is they are angling every which way to spin and make Iraq a defeat. Our replacing Maliki is a dumb idea by Biden who IMHO is long on psychopathy and short on intelligence.

Things not said that are true. Machiavelli said 500 years ago when you replace an existing order you have great difficulties because those replaced resist fiercely and those who will replace are diffident since they are unaware of the real benefits accruing to them.

Besides that we face two crowd dynamics. The first is a surplus of men of military age with nothing to do and hopes for power. Every study shows a high birth rate augurs for military aggressiveness. Not certain but probable.

Two, we are facing a common dynamic police call a "domestic." We come upon two warring parties and separate them or secure one and then find the other attacks us. Hostile people want to actualize their hostility and will look for every venue possible and strangers or authority is the very best target.

Finally, I know it seems iconoclastic but most people are involved with their families, friends and work associates. Only a minority take much interest in either politics or foreign policy. All these polls are measuring something important to the political elite and hangers on but there is no reservoir demanding a regime change in the US. Most people queried will answer off the top of their head whatever doesn't appear stupid or whatever looks like it will please the pollster. It is the moral hazard of making polls rather than positions the subjects inquiry.

I watch Chrissy for laughs sometimes. His show is the very definition of "echo box". It is unreal how they slobber all over someone like Obama without ever considering his experience or qualifications. He should run for President because he's a "rock star" and the chicks dig him. Wow.

I listened to CBS News Roundup on the radio this morning for half an hour before I had to turn it off. Absolute steady stream of doom-and-gloom, pro-DNC propaganda.

They interviewed Hans Blix, who advocated a "carrot and stick" approach to N. Korea. He said that before we "wave the stick" at them, we should "dangle the carrot" by sending, I kid you not, Jimmy Carter, over there to negotiate with them. What's Jimmuh gonna do, give them more $ Billions, uranium, and reactors? What idiots.

It doesn't matter how many times their policies fail, they want to repeat them, over and over.

Medved pwn3d CNN and they're too stupid to realize it.

Remember folks...they claim they are giving the "unvarnished truth"...but it's the same CNN that knew about and purposely didn't report on Saddam's atrocities so they could keep their precious Baghdad office.

Her claim rests on the point NK may have produced uranium, but not platonium. Then she can blame Bush on their using platonium, if they did. Her premise is where her stretching the truth lies.

It is a most EXCELLENT thread. I can't believe how much work he puts into it every week - - and, if that weren't enough, this week he added pictures! Phsstpok's threads and posts are always insightful and thoughtful and ones that everyone should read.

I have tried to turn on FNS several times. As a rule, that is the only one I watch. I have changed channels, or just flat turned it off three times. I will not listen to Levin,......

Same here. I hardly ever miss FNS but could not force myself to listen to Warner and Levin.

I would venture that this mornings numbers for FNS watchers is very, very close to the lowest ever. If I miss it due to prior committments I try to catch the 6PM EST replay if the comments on this thread are interesting. Just rapidly looking at the thread I see very little that would warrant viewing the replay.

We are fighting non-state enemies with whom it's impossible to have a dialogue

Exactly Timeout! Worse than that we are also fighting an asymmetrical war in which we have to selective take out the bad guys a few at a time with as little collateral damage as possible.

If all we had to do was blow up all the bad guys and not worry about the consequences of collateral damage this war would be over real quick.

Ever wonder how Saddam kept the peace all the time, he did not care about any consequences and everyone knew it. He would do whatever was necessary to keep his power, from mass killings to poisonous gas!! We don't fight like that, and no on is advocating that we do.

But,the idiots that want the war to be over "tomorrow" should realize that it takes time to selectively kill all the terrorists. Can't be done over night. That little detail is seldom mentioned in the msm/DBM and for good reason. It changes everything.

Have you ever actually listened to what this clown says? It's gunk; word salad. It's completely devoid of any substance at all. Every time I see Obama on television, he reminds me of Peter Sellers in "Being There."

Just want to point out the black and white cookie is about to go the way of the dodo bird. Bloomberg has outlawed tranformative fats...a key ingredient in the cookie (and other NYC favorites).

Now, if only he'd outlaw liberals, what a world it would be!
