Exactly Timeout! Worse than that we are also fighting an asymmetrical war in which we have to selective take out the bad guys a few at a time with as little collateral damage as possible.
If all we had to do was blow up all the bad guys and not worry about the consequences of collateral damage this war would be over real quick.
Ever wonder how Saddam kept the peace all the time, he did not care about any consequences and everyone knew it. He would do whatever was necessary to keep his power, from mass killings to poisonous gas!! We don't fight like that, and no on is advocating that we do.
But,the idiots that want the war to be over "tomorrow" should realize that it takes time to selectively kill all the terrorists.Can't be done over night. That little detail is seldom mentioned in the msm/DBM and for good reason. It changes everything.
DO you ever wonder what would happen if the terrorists showed up en masse in America and started beheading people? Suppose they brought their Iraq tactics with them: blow up schools/churches, kill political leaders, destroy infrastructure. But more than anything, spread terror through mass beheadings and other atrocities.
What would Americans do? Would they fight? I'm not sure the majority would. Sadly, I think they'd cringe at the barbarism, try any appeasement just to get them to stop. I'm no longer even sure they'd fight for their children, telling them instead to just be nice to the enemy so they don't get blown up.
I am sick of the DBM propaganda on Iraq.
President Bush addressed this nation on several occasions with a MULTITUDE of reasons for going into Iraq. 12 "strong" written memos from the UN wasn't very exciting for the media. Spreading Democracy and freedom isn't anything the media wants to aid in. But the DBM couldn't get enough of the Weapons of Mass Destruction talk. They CLUNG to this ONE piece, and had every expert they could find, come talk about it. The DBM were the ones driven by tragedy doomsday panic driven ratings.
It wasn't BUSH running around talking about the WMD non-stop. It was the media bringing total focus to this ONE point- over and over. Now- we haven't found the BIG STASH of WMD that would make for "great TV." So they ignore every other piece of evidence found about the WMD and try and blame BUSH for their drum beat of scare tactics that lead us into this "war for oil."
It accomplishes two things for them. It diverts attention from the fact that it was THEM who overplayed this point and engaged in "fear mongering" for ratings. And it hurts Bush.
Now it is a "quagmire" and Bush lied, tra, la, la, la, la.....
This is now quagmire. This is a successful operation. This is not a "civil war." It is radical terrorists fighting to create another terror state. They come from ALL over- Syria, Pakistan, Iran, Lebanon, etc....The terrorists are masters of propaganda- they have been doing it for years. They know how to abuse our media- and of course our DBM are eager to aid them.
This War in Iraq has been going on for just over 3 years. Who ever heard of a 3 year war with less than 3,000 dead?
Then the media tries to take the sectarian wars between these religious groups that has been going on for YEARS- and paint it as if it is because of the US being there?
These groups were killing each other before we were ever "discovered." We don't cause the violence. It is the HATE and VIOLENT Preaching IMAMS and THUG DICTATORS that have created this culture of violence, and we can't expect the US to come in and change this culture overnight.
In fact- the TRUTH is that if we left- the violence would get WORSE! We are the ones stifling the violence. We are the ones bringing hope and a different prism of how to deal with differences other than beheadings and terror.
We have brought them a whole new world- where dictators no longer reign. You don't wipe out 30 years of a death culture, or thousands of years of theocracy and religious mental slavery with a few discussions. When we won in WWII we were dealing with countries that had only been recently invaded and taken over with fascism.
Furthermore- MOST of the Iraqi people GET IT. They are participating in elections, even if it means walking over dead bodies. They are learning about a government with split power not full dictatorship. They are learning about capitalism, they are learning about alternatives to state-run media. They are being given an opportunity to learn things in school, other than Saddam is a god- and America is satan.
Is it perfect? NO- but it is an AWE INSPIRING transition for the world to see- and this is what scares the hell out of the terrorists, and what the media can never allow to be seen- because Bush would get credit, and they would be exposed for the political hacks that they are.
This is no Vietnam, and the only way they can save face for themselves on the claim that it is- is to keep trying to get the American people to lose heart and determination so that we leave- and then thousands are murdered and slaughtered just as what happened in Vietnam. They cannot afford for us to win this war.
Their egos are so precious- they will keep marching to their death - knowing that it is our destruction that will bring them a media blitz of patting themselves on the back for their power to rule over foreign policy and wars.
As they scramble to be the best propaganda tool for the terrorists, they proclaim integrity and "courage" to bring the American people the "truth."
Well- if they want to bring people the truth- they can start airing films of aborted babies right after the films the terrorists produce for them.
Bottom Line- Staying the Course- is their worst nightmare- because the "course" is working. Less than three thousand dead in over 3 years is a TREMENDOUS SUCCESS. This is WAR- not tidly winks (ZERO deaths)- or "Birth Control" (millions of deaths).
I REFUSE to allow the media or Satan trapse around this country UNCHALLENGED!
