I have a feeling we had NBC on cable that night and I think I saw that as well
I disagree. He's running for the 2nd slot.
The Dems and media won't admit it, but they know the electorate saw Edwards as a pretty-boy lightweight, not willing to roll up his sleeves and do some work before demanding the crown.
I think Obama and his advisors are smart enough to see that. A VP slot, on the other hand, positions him perfectly to move up to POTUS without ever having to take an unpopular stance. He WILL be her running mate. Now it's up to the GOP to counter that with a strong ticket of our own. (NOT including senators!)
They sound like a damn chorus.
After trying to start WWIII with Russia in Bosnia, he's a perfect Democrat Sec of Defense.
Roughly....the county auditor is allegedly, insert wink here, an impartial, elected person charged with reviewing the monetary affairs of the county, the accounting practices, checking to see all is up to snuff...that kind of thing.
No one really cares much about this position but for me, well I've been an accountant for many, many years (not that I'm proud of this necessarily) and have been an independent consultant on my own for just as many. I can look at a pile of numbers and boom, see the discrepancies.
I already have some of my clients ready to back me and they are big landowners and business people here in Delaware. Although I must walk softly here as I have NO intention of being anyone's flacky. That's the whole purpose...I want to be independent, honest and fair. Something I've been my whole life and just give me some time with how the money is collected, distributed and WASTED and I have every intention of making a stink.
Hey, it's a long road but I'm so sick and tired of sitting and typing and I really want to go out and DO something. I just know I could turn this wasteful state on its head. Everybody almost in Delaware is employed for the government in some sort of political appointee position because of Joe Biden and his minion, Nanny Minner.
This week I am having lunch with the Republican Women of Sussex county. Gotta schmooze and be charming, need their endorsement. I dunno know where it's going but I am, ahem, determined.
An honest person in government, how's that for a concept?
As for the British equivalent...damn if I know.
I thought that after they called it the others might give in but they couldn't give up hope.
He fancies himself a uniter, so why would he want to be a running mate to henious, who is the most polarizing pol in the country?
If he wins some primaries, there'll be no stopping him.
Also she sometimes has to say things publicily that she may not privately always agree with. In her position of SoS she has to be dipolmatic to be invited to a country or have the opportunity to speak to a particular person.
My pleasure, Rod.
They dare not stand out from the rest of the group.
Kondracke has a short memory. He needs to remember past comments better and apply them to current politicians.
Morton Kondracke, Roll Call magazine, 1994:
"Liberals obviously didn't intend for the abandonment of traditional values to lead to an aids epidemic, rampant teen-age pregnancy, the destruction of two-parent families, an explosion of child abuse and child poverty, increasing coarseness in popular culture and horrific street violence. But it has."
I have had my fill. NOT going to watch Fox News Sunday or any of the others.
Did Juan just suggest a coup in Iraq??
Yup.
We don't have anyone to blame but ourselves. After winning congress in 1994 and the presidency in 2000, too many activists thought the fight was over. It wasn't, it isn't.
