What is a County auditor and what would the British equivalent be?

Roughly....the county auditor is allegedly, insert wink here, an impartial, elected person charged with reviewing the monetary affairs of the county, the accounting practices, checking to see all is up to snuff...that kind of thing.

No one really cares much about this position but for me, well I've been an accountant for many, many years (not that I'm proud of this necessarily) and have been an independent consultant on my own for just as many. I can look at a pile of numbers and boom, see the discrepancies.

I already have some of my clients ready to back me and they are big landowners and business people here in Delaware. Although I must walk softly here as I have NO intention of being anyone's flacky. That's the whole purpose...I want to be independent, honest and fair. Something I've been my whole life and just give me some time with how the money is collected, distributed and WASTED and I have every intention of making a stink.

Hey, it's a long road but I'm so sick and tired of sitting and typing and I really want to go out and DO something. I just know I could turn this wasteful state on its head. Everybody almost in Delaware is employed for the government in some sort of political appointee position because of Joe Biden and his minion, Nanny Minner.

This week I am having lunch with the Republican Women of Sussex county. Gotta schmooze and be charming, need their endorsement. I dunno know where it's going but I am, ahem, determined.

An honest person in government, how's that for a concept?

As for the British equivalent...damn if I know.

Just a note. In CO, Republican women groups are very influential and effective in helping candidates win. They can be a great resource for you. Good luck!
