I've been reading too many articles written from the British perspective. "Asian" to me really menas oriental, and I don't mean that. Swap out "Islamofascist" with "Asian and it will make more sense.

Yes Asian has a different connotation in Britain than it does elsewhere.

When we say Asian we mainly mean muslim Asian. We tend to use far east for the other orientals.
