Be it her politics - or perhaps her personality - one thing is clear. Some big-time MSM women columnists don't dig Hillary. Yesterday I described here how the LA Times Rosa Brooks described Hillary - in the context of her support for legislation authorizing torture in ticking-bomb type cases - as having "hit bottom"and "fallen as low as it's possible to go."
Today Maureen Dowd weighs in - with a vengeance. The central thesis of the subscription-required Obamas Project Runway is that the Illinois senator needs to decide whether he is content to be the glamor guy basking in Dem adulation, or wants to get serious and run for president. [On a related note, earlier today I posed the question here as to whether Obama is ready for prime time in light of his suggestion on last night's Olbermann that we should encourage Iran and Syria to "take ownership" for the stability of Iraq.]
In any case, along the way, Dowd offers this trenchant take:
"Mr. Obamas main accomplishment so far is sending a chill through Hillary Clinton, the Democrats dreaded eventuality."
Ouch!
you will be proven wrong....she and bj have been working on this since the day she took the silverware and china and stormed out of the whitehouse!!!!
I don't doubt Hillary's ambition or Bill's complicity. But we live in a democracy, and just as in 2000 when Dems turned from Dean when they decided he couldn't win, so too I predict will they renounce Hillary when she is shown to be a sure general-election loser.
Dowd doesn't like Hillary, but will vote for her anyway. Too bad more Conservatives don't take this stance. :(
The "Savior" is being rammed down out throats big time in Illinois.
No it is an indication of how low the RAT party has sunk.
What is with these people (errrrrr libs) pushing Obama to run for President? The man is in no way ready for prime time.
WHAT??????
As for Hillary, even Elizabeth Edwards is happier than she is!!!!
This is really the most interesting sentence in the article. Obama scares me to death. He is way too charismatic and way too Muslim for my tastes. I watched him at the Democratic Convention and I watched the Blacks in the audience, swaying as though they were at a revival meeting and Marjoe was preaching. You put that together with his Muslim heritage and you get one scary character.
I don't believe a word of anything Maureen Dowdy has to say. Expect to see lots more stories like this where the Hard Left pretend to be anti-Hillary. In their guts, they know she's one of them (and will govern accordingly, once she gets her claws on the ultimate reigns of power).
On a side note, Mark Steyn is speaking on Tammy Bruce's radio show right now.....
Hillary has something that perhaps Dean did not. Hillary will have the MSM who will pump her up in the polls, and never let on that she can't win.
Also on PBS. Obama is nothing less than a communist he proposes re-distribution of our wealth via US goverment programs.
Catch his diatribe on Charlie Rose (PBS)broadcast on 10/18/06.
Beware, this guy is smooth.
Channel jumping brought me to an interview NPR did with OsamaObama this week, the woman reporter was basically having a Obamagasam..and gushing over him...sick.
PC is the consensus of journalists, what they can all agree on. To stray outside of the consensus is to risk starting a flame war with other people who buy ink by the carload. Each stays inside the consensus so that they can retain the label "objective" which journalists bestow on each other. To question the objectivity of a fellow journalist who has not strayed from PC is to stray yourself. And then you are "not a journalist, not objective."
Give us your prediction. I say it will be Al Gore; for real.
Oooooh! That must have left a mark!
Nothing better than to have the enemy turn on each other .. it's God's gift.
Look it up in the scriptures for yourselves - whenever the people would pray, God would confound the enemy and cause them to turn and devour each other. I love it!!
Voters in the Democratic primaries will not "know" that Hillary can't win the general election unless the media tells them so.
