I DVD'ed Olbermann overnight to check just how fawning of a performance Keith would put in with his guest Barack Obama - whom FCC regulations require me to describe as "the rising star of the Democratic party." When it came to Olbermann's sycophancy, I wasn't disappointed. After accusing Republicans of "terrorizing" Americans, the MSNBC host continued:
"proposing an alternative course for American politics, one that replaces fear with - of all things - hope, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and his new book, The Audacity of Hope."
The toughest question Olbermann posed to his guest, touted as a possible 2008 presidential nominee, is why Obama would want to be president given the awful legacy he would be inheriting from George Bush. An indulgent Obama gave Keith a verbal pat on the head, congratulating him on his "good question."
But all the fluff aside, I was stunned by something Obama said. Describing his proposal for a phased withdrawal from Iraq, Obama added that it would:
"send a message to the Iraqis as well as to the regional powers including Iran and Syria that they have to take some ownership for creating some stability there."
What? Obama's plan is to turn Iraq over to the tender mercies of Iran and Syria? And just what kind of "stability" does he imagine that would produce?
Barack might be the Golden Boy of the MSM, but with that one statement, he demonstrated that he is not ready for prime time, letting alone for becoming Commander-in-Chief.
Aside: what does it say of Barack's ambition and ego that the photo displayed here comes from his official senatorial web site?

"Does anybody really watch his brand of cr*p? Or pay any attention to it?"
According to the ratings, no, but don't tell the DUmmies that.
O'Bama has been blessed with golden verbal communication, but he's a RAT, a dangerous one, and bears watching.
"Obama attacked John Bolton during the hearings w/a long quote which he read aloud. Then, when he had finished, John Bolton calmly replied, "That quote was by JOSH Bolton, sir.""
ROFLMAO!!!
Given Kennedy's mixup of Obama's name, making it sound like he's "Osama", he ought to be a bit more sensitive to that!
Barak Hussein Osamabama Bananarama FeFiFofama Obama
In a fawning NPR interview, he stated that he dislikes money in campaigns and approves of taxpayer-funded campaigns.
Not only does he want us to hear about his liberal delusions,
he wants ME to pay for it! No thanks!
"That is, let's imagine a white guy with all of Mr. Obama's pluses: crinkly smile, sincere concern for the little man, fine speech a couple of years ago about bringing the nation together, a certain charisma, wrote a touching autobiography. Let's call him Barrett O'Leary."
Sounds a bit like John Edwards ... of course, John Edwards had to affect that his father was a mill-hand, when in fact his father did work at a mill ... at a respectable middle-class job.
Somehow when a Republican has that background (like Cheney) its a yawn, but if a Democrat has it, its some kind of heroic acheivement.
Obama really said that? What a hoot.
Me, too, granny. I fear for my grandchildren. That's why I keep telling my two granddaughters to be conservative Christians. Their folks do the same. Wish they'd come to our christian school but...maybe when the folks get tired enough of the politically correct crap they're starting to promote in their school, they will.
I prefer you not call him OBama. Why endear him to the blacks and Democrats in Alabama? Alabama is one state that the Republicans need.
Sorry, my bad. I just googled him and both names Barack Obana and Barack Obama came up. It looks like more research is needed.
Just so long as he doesnt fake out being Irish like Kerry did.
You know ... O'Bama :-)
This raises the question of why he is changing his name? I thought when he ran for Senator the name was O'Bana. When you google him you come up with both names legal Weird!
Funny how the media conveniently forgets that his full name is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.
