We knew this was coming.
I'm surprised it took so long. God, I hope they get to keep the South Park and Team America clips up.
Pretty soon that video eraser guy on YouTube is gonna have to go full time to keep up with it. /s
One day YouTube may have as much clean up to do as FR's Moderators. Probably not in the near future though.
FR would never bow to the Japs! Ah! So Solly!
I was just talking about copywrite and YouTube today. The Japanese media went to Google because Google presents a big corporate target that will pay attention to them.
Someone will start up another nameless, faceless site and it will start all over again. I'm not advocating illegal behavior, just pointing out the nature of online activities. Even if the server is in Russia or the Caymans, if Google becomes too restrictive with YouTube, someone will start another, similar site.
Well, it doesn't make me like it any better..
Bring back our diversions-Free Partypoker & Youtube..
MATT DAAAMON!
I do not look at YouTube so I don't know how they use the videos. Anyone care to elaborate? We on FR post stories from other sources, give the source and then comment on it. We're not claiming that work as our own. What do they do on YouTube?
Me neither.
I know that YouTube has caused me to buy or rent certain movies that I otherwise wouldn't, simply by seeing a clip.
All those Latoya Jackson clips... GONE!
Those Japanese manga/anime/crazy tv game shows were a huge chunk of Youtubes daily traffic, always represented heavily in the top 100 daily viewcounts, AND more importantly the core attracter that brought various fans of such to visit YouTube.
The funnier part is how as the cat and mouse game progresses, the video posters will move to closed bittorrent websites, and content ownership lobbying groups will completely lose all ways to handle digital distribution. In short, they should have cut a deal with Google like American companies have.
It had nothing to do with copyright. They saw Asian women and thought there were more Michelle Malkin videos to delete.
GOOD ONE!

*Sorry about the other comment, the url should have been put up after the pointy brackets, too.
You could use the tagline.
