Apparently (surprise, surprise) no US newspaper ever mentioned this! My French is rusty, basically, the article says that Stephan Chapin and Bertrand Charpentier, two Frenchmen who were "married" in 2004 (the French state, to its credit, refused to recognize this ceremony) were sentenced to four and eight months of prison (suspended) for writing stolen checks against their landlady's bank account. They also have to repay the housing subsidy they fradulently obtained while living rent-free.

Let's see:

- The first openly homosexual congressman censured for having sex with a page

Sorry to be pedantic too, but the double proposition was right. The right phrase is "Les ''mariés de Bègles'' condamnés à de la prison avec sursis" (condamnés à (faire) de la prison).
