spending a little time in Brooklyn would cause one to conclude that this sort of thing isn't all that unusual.
To: cripplecreek
Obviously the man in the article thought "purebred" and "inbred" were synonymous terms.
To: presidio9
"The Associated Press is not publishing the 48-year-old father's name because it would identify his daughters."
But his name will come out eventually.
"public record"
I feel sorry for those girls.

All I can say is that I'm glad this story wasn't from West Virginia.

The cost of thsi trial could be avoided with the purchase and expenditure a single bullet - I'll donate a dollar and let them keep the change.

What happened to these children? Do they suffer from any defects? I didn't see that mentioned.

Besides being outraged ... I was wondering about that too -

Probably not. Inbreeding has to go on for few generations before you see defects, I believe.

Once gay marriage is enshrined in our "constitutional rights" this and more will be the norm.

It heightens the risk. I don't think there is any guarantee one way or the other regardless of generations. The risk probably does mount with increasing generations -- beyond just the number of rolls of the dice.

Twenty years he did this?
And the one was 13 when it started, making her likely 33 now?
And they didn't speak up?
They were originally from Port Jervis or Walden NY, right?

The guy doesn't comprehend recessive lethals or the value of "hybrid vigor" in leveraging genetic diversity. There is a good reason for avoiding incest and its consequences to the offspring. Assaulting his own daughters calls for a least a life sentence.
