The emergency room at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood was put on lockdown this morning after a possible smallpox scare, fire-rescue officials said.
A single patient in the ER could be exhibiting signs and symptoms of the potentially fatal disease, authorities said. It is unclear if the patient was brought in by a rescue team or came to the hospital alone.
The emergency room was under quarantine until further notice, fire-rescue officials said.

Fox reported it as a news alert with the original report. Subsequently they reported that the lockdown had been lifted. That's all I know...I was out of the room for part of the time, so I don't know if it wasn't smallpox, or if they have sterilized the ER, or what.
I was just going to post this article. Saw it reported on Fox & Friends but that is it.
Scary stuff.
According to FOX they've ended the lockdown but I'm not sure what it means exactly.
it's over..the hospital is no longer under "lock down"

Isn't this one of the types of bio attacks we have been worried about? Or am I all wet? Waiting for reassurances....
I always said that even though smallpox had supposedly been 'wiped out', that this was hardly likely to be the case, and that we could see more cases of this; and when we did, the decision to stop innoculating everyone against it would be seen to be a terrible mistake.
I don't think this is likely to be smallpox this time,
but I think the country would be better off if it returned to the practice of universal innoculation.
saw the reassurances everyone......I'll feel a whole lot better in two weeks.......
agreed....
Excuse me, but could we get back to the important stuff? A possible person of interest may have heard Mark Foley confess he once wrote a fan letter to Clarabelle the Clown. MSM is all over this one.;)
Update from Miami Herald
Hollywood ER reopens after lockdownBY KATHLEEN McGRORY
Part of the emergency room at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood has been reopened after a brief lockdown this morning, hospital officials said.
Earlier today, a man entered the ER with a high fever and a rash -- symptoms that resembled smallpox, a potentially fatal infectious disease. Following standard procedure, hospital officials quarantined one area of the ER.
Doctors later said the man did not have smallpox. They have not said what he had.
''We were exercising an abundance of caution,'' said Kerting Baldwin, a hospital spokeswoman.
The entire ER was open and accepting patients, hospital officials said.

Foley, heck!
Greta and others are stuck on John Mark Karr.
lol
Why doens't FOX just spring for it and buy him the white Bronco. You know they're itching for a Karr Chase...
It is still in the hands of "safe nations" lol
>>>Weaponized pox is the most severe bioweapons threat we face... And few are immunized.>>>
I am of the age that I was the first year to not get the smallpox vaccine. My husband is immunized and if a smallpox epedemic broke out, he would lose all his children and wife. Sad.
