I can say without an iota of hesitation or regret that I will cast a ballot for a Democrat for only the third time in my 26 years of voting. The only Democrats I ever voted for were Ann Richards for governor on TX against that quack Clayton Williams and for Lloyd Bentsen for Senator from TX.
Due to my total disgust with the way the Federal and the state governments have conducted themselves and how they have failed to act in the interest of this country, I will proudly vote a straight Democrat ticket this year and as a vow to myself, for the next 20 years.
The only exception to this is that I will vote for Kinky for governor because he is the only one I don't view with contempt over their past actions.
Now if only 30,000,000 others out there who are fed up with the corruption, the inaction on border security, the mess in Iraq, the immigration issue, the ever worsening health care fiasco in this country, the incredible spending binge undertaken by Bush and Congress, the Internet gambling ban and the contemptible and disrespectful way in which the GOP views the American public (except for those writing them big checks and paying for all their luxurious lifestyles) will do the same thing, we can start the revolution that will begin to turn this sinking ship around.

If the Dems retake control of Congress, it may be another generation before our economy recovers.

And if it was a way to get other's opinions and have a chance to change their mind, FR just blew it. If they were on the fence, FR sure made up their mind. There are a lot of people on this forum from 98,99,00, that if you look at their personal pages do not have anything to do with the GOP. I think a discussion about the positions posted would have been more productive then to just go postal (sorry postal workers).

Ya know, I dont much care for Republicans, but I LOATHE the Democrats. That will be my message by holding my nose and voting straight (R).

There is no way that is true. Unless they gain a huge majority and then win the White House the only thing they will be able to do is create gridlock (which they already can do) and not renew the tax cuts (which might happen even with a GOP congress).
I just don't think untrue fear-mongering is the right tactic. There are lots of other things the Donks can and will do that are both fearsome, possible and true.
