Looks like Sherrod Brown has a little tax problem that's come to light. Here's a press release from the DeWine camp that just hit my inbox: "Sherrod Brown admitted the State of Ohio had to take legal action to force him to pay his taxes. As state officials confirmed, Sherrod Brown did not pay the unemployment taxes that every other employer in Ohio is required to pay. Sherrod Brown first said that he did not pay them for 12 years; he is now saying that he made a mistake and that he did finally pay them but only after the State of Ohio took legal action against him.
"The facts are clear: Sherrod Brown didn't pay his taxes. In fact, he didn't pay his taxes for so long that the State of Ohio was forced to take legal action against him to get him to pay what he owed.
"And now the best Sherrod Brown can say is that it was nearly two years that he cheated unemployed Ohio workers out of the money that was due to them.
"C'mon, Sherrod. How many Ohio workers get to pay their tax bill two years late?
"Worse still, he's got the nerve to try to blame the DeWine campaign for his own financial mismanagement. Tuesday his campaign said Sherrod paid his tax bill in 2005. Today, they say, no wait, he only waited until after the state took legal action against him to pay his late tax obligation. Oh, and he says that he must have forgotten to get the lien released that the State had been forced to file against him.
"Do we really need a U.S. Senator who can't even manage his own financial affairs? Can we trust someone who waits for the government to take legal action before he pays his taxes?"
There's some really slimy stuff coming out about Strickland (ALL true), and he has been posing as a "Methodist Minister."
That doesn't go over well in these here parts......and there's still plenty of time to get the truth out AND the voters.
Yard signs do not elections make......
There are a lot driving north on 77 in Akron. I've seen quite a few.
Put a cork in Brown. He's done!
It is easy to be for higher taxes when you don't pay them.
I'll be up visiting next weekend, so I'll check out the scene. I can't believe that Sherrod Brown is even running. Shouldn't he be in jail or something?
roll on, kiddo!
Sweet
THANK YOU!!!
If I want doom and gloom about our chances, I'll watch CNN.
The grassroots is highly motivated. Calls and door to door are WAY up. Lit drops are going strong. Donations are going strong. The momentum has shifted wildly in our favor.
And I will not be discouraged by an Eeyore.
If you're discouraged, GET TO WORK. Change things. And stop griping.
in this anti-GOP environment it wont matter.
It is like 1992, notjhing the GOP can do is right, nothing the DEMS do is wrong...of course it will all matter after the election, just like it did in 1993-94
so true...it won't even make any evening news in the alphabet msm.....but will have at least 1 or 2 updates on foley!!!
Are you helping out? Massive marches this weekend all over the southern part of the state to drop lit, knock on doors, and make phone calls. Don't sit and complain about how bad things are: CHANGE REALITY.
It's fun living in the most important state in the Union. ;)
SATURDAY!! BE THERE!!
To date, NO---repeat, ZERO---Dem presence on the ground. No lit dropper, no door knockers, zippity doo dah.
Remember, ours is the same ground game that won in 2004, and, apparently, theirs is the same ground game that lost in 2004.
Sign up for SUPER SATURDAY.......make yourself feel better.
