"Why do Republicans drive leftists so crazy these days?
It's not the Republicans' fault. Leftists are just inherently crazy."
I believe what drives the Leftists nuts is that they realize that the adults in America do not and will not support their agenda.

Hear! Hear! I despised Clinton personally as well.
It appears he loves his sins too well to ever consider change - much less repentance.

Yep, the MSM really wants us to stay home. Not gonna happen...

Or is the current left-wing savagery also a legacy of the tribal 1960s, when out-of-power protesters felt that expressions of speaking bluntly, even crudely, were at least preferable to "artificial" cultural restraint? Why should graying veterans of the barricades, then, remain "polite" when their country's less sophisticated red-state yokels are taking it in the wrong direction? In a nutshell. Almost sounds like jihadism doesn't it?

Almost sounds like jihadism doesn't it? That is an excellent analogy. I have been persuaded for some time that leftist Democrats have a lot in common with the jihadists: a passionate belief that they are RIGHT, and that their worldview MUST prevail; a sad realization that it CANNOT prevail through persuasion alone; and the resulting conclusion that it is fair enough (in fact, morally righteous) to advance their agenda BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

Baltimore's Mayor (who now is running for governor of Maryland), initiated a campaign to improve the city by having giant banners with the letters BELIEVE in huge letters... Good heavens..."OBEY" would have worked better...

In my opinion, there is (or was) nothing Neanderthal about my dislike and distrust of the impeached former president nor was there anything inept about President George W. Bush's flight suit; therefore, Hanson only somewhat nails it this time. Everytime I see a leftist going off on one of his or her rants, I picture the person as one of the unwashed potheads I saw wandering around the D.C. tent city that I went there to mock in the early 70s. (Figures: Back when I was able to travel, we didn't have an organized "force" for me to do it with! Instead, my protest consisted of touring the D.C. Police Department Communications Center. I was a dispatcher at a west coast of Ohio, small-city police department at the time.)

Hateful, loony Dems are using the MSM to undermine the public who should be voting on real issues not smears, lies, insults and hate. The Pubs must return home to their Party and stop these haters from regaining the power they so crave.

Do we despise Mark Foley any less? Conservatives simply expect that leadership means holding oneself to a higher standard and recognize that when leaders engage in tawdry behavior (and then get caught) they lose their legitimacy. In such instances, the only honorable course of action is to step down. We certainly would have liked Al Gore even less than Clinton from a policy perspective, but felt called to action when Clinton failed to resign when he lost his legitimacy as a credible leader of the United States.
There is nothing neanderthal about believing in and acting in accordance with a set of principles. I suspect that VDH must have just spent a little too much time working on his farm out in the sun today and didn't go back to proofread his column before publishing it.
We certainly know that even the smartest of FReepers are capable of an inept comment from time to time, so why should we expect anything different from VDH?!

One HUGE topic of discussion that needs to be presented by our 'net and radio talk show types is this:
The Dems are CONSTANTLY presenting and then fanning "news" that disrupts our nations' well-being, and whether true or not, they continue to do this merely to gain 'power'.....but in the meanwhile, our economy (and thus OUR LIVLIHOODS and our 401Ks) are being pulverized just because "they can", and "they need to".
This attack on my financial stability must end. They are threatening every one of us 300,000,000, every day.

The Democrats have not elected congressional majorities in 12 years, and they've occupied the White House in only eight of the last 26 years. The left's current unruliness seems a way of scapegoating others for a more elemental frustration - that they can't gain a national majority based on their core beliefs. More entitlements, higher taxes to pay for them, gay marriage, de facto quotas in affirmative action, open borders, abortion on demand, and radical secularism - these liberal issues don't tend to resonate with most Americans. To compensate, leftist pundits, billionaire philanthropists and politicians, from current officeholders to ex-presidents, work to ensure that isolated moments of Republican ineptness (George Bush strutting on a carrier deck in his flight suit) and wrongdoing (repulsive e-mails from a perverted Congressman Mark Foley) blare out as the only issues of the day. This distracting drumbeat, not their own agenda, is the only strategy for success in the next election. This cannot be said enough.
