Malt Vinegar and salt are the only thing that belongs on fries.
English food has its high points: Cornish pasties (basically a hot pocket made out of pie crust or biscuit dough with meat and vegetables and/or fruit filling), fish and chips, bacon, marrow, steak and kidney pie, blood pudding. Beyond that, it's rough. I can see why these kids don't want to eat cucumber sandwiches. I was all excited about getting jellied eels in Greenwich, only to find that I don't like them at all.
The Scots have great traditional food.

You've obviously not heard of the Deep Fried Mars Bar.

I adore British food and have an endless amount of cookbooks attesting to the fact. London is one of the best restaurant cities in the world! I'll be back in three weeks and can't wait to eat and eat. The old idea of bad food in Great Britain is long over.
And I love the wonderfully named Mrs. Critchlow - my new hero against nanny statism! For shame, Jamie!

Cornish pasties (basically a hot pocket made out of pie crust or biscuit dough with meat and vegetables and/or fruit filling)Is that the basis for the Jamaican pattie? They're everywhere here in Toronto.
