In March, Harris went on national television to say she would pump $10 million of her personal fortune into her bid to become a senator. So far, she has put in about $3.15 million, and only three weeks are left in the campaign.
Harris paid $795,000 for the home in 2003, and its total assessed value in 2005 was about $806,500. Even if she sells it for $1 million and puts that into the campaign, her total personal contribution would be $4.1 million.
Just-released finance reports show that Harris had about $964,000 in campaign money as of Sept. 30. That's not enough to make a statewide media buy, and Harris has not had any commercials on the air since the Republican primary. Nelson had about $6.8 million left as of Sept. 30, according to the reports.
Harris trails Nelson in most independent polls by 18 to 20 percentage points.

The GOP has more money than the dems, but it's still limited. The GOP pulled money out of Graf's Arizona house race, and if the MSM has it right, is pulling out of Ohio's Senate race. Agree with them on individual decisions or not, the goal of spending money where it may help defeat an opponent instead of spending money on "brave but hopeless" races is a good one.

wow.......and i thought senators ran for re-election every 6 years.....2004 + 6years equals 2010....she decided not to run for the house in 2004, the president wanted her to run in 2004 because she could win that seat easily..she chose instead to run for senate in 2006, against the presidents wishes....if you do not know how long the term of a senator is, I hope you are not voting in this election.

Yep. We laughed at Denise Majette when she pulled the exact same stunt (especially when the result was to open up a gap through which Moonbat McKinney fluttered back into Congress).

I'd like to ask her: if this $800,000 is so crucial to her campaign that she'd sell her house to raise it, why hasn't she made good on her promise to put $10,000,000 of her own money into her campaign?

I'm not doubting that. The GOP leadership did not endorse a candidate in the primary (which, I believe, is a good policy). They did not annoint a candidate, preferring to let the primary voters decide.
So she took her case to the primary voters. The objection to her candidacy that many of us had was that she could not win. Her response was, in no small part, to commit her own money to the effort. She pledged to give $10 million of her own fortune to her campaign. That was the sign that she was serious.
She hasn't kept her word so far, and if this is the best she can do she won't keep her word at all. She might have won the primary, but she won it with empty promises.
So how exactly is it the fault of the Florida State GOP that Harris broke her promise?

I'm presuming that you mean we'll be stuck with Nelson. And you're right - it's a shame. But the person to blame is Harris for running a lousy campaign and for breaking her promise.
You keep repeating that they haven't "supported" her, but you fail to answer the very simple question:
How is it Jeb's fault (or the fault of the FL GOP) that Harris has broken the promise she made to the primary voters?
