A big swing by Albert Pujols and another playoff gem from a rejuvenated Jeff Weaver put the St. Louis Cardinals on the cusp of the World Series.
Pujols' homer helped the Cardinals get to Tom Glavine at last, and Weaver shut down the New York Mets for a 4-2 victory Tuesday night and a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven NL championship series.

If I had to choose a team it would be the mets only because I cant stand to listen to Joe Buck shill for the cards. I thought he was going to cry in 04

there is no way they are going to out-slug the Tigers. The Cards have much better pitchingI think it is going to be just the opposite.

Oh, Doug, c'mon now... The Curse of Hillary ONLY applies to the NY Yankees. Hildabeast never put on a Mets cap and posed for the camera as far as I know.
I may be a Red Sox fan, but we Red Sox fans and Mets fans stand united in our "hate" of the Yankees... ;-)
GO METS!

JOSE!!!!!I just love Jose Reyes! My husband and I went to a few Norfolk (Virginia) Tides (AAA) games back in 2003. Jose Reyes clearly stood out as the star of the Tides. We knew he'd be in the big leagues shortly. Another of Reyes' teammates at the time who also stood out was Marco Scutaro, now of the Oakland A's.

Boy this thread is pretty dead, huh? Where are all the Mets and Cards fans? Can you imagine if the Red Sox were in the playoffs right now? We'd be up to a couple of hundred posts by now for sure... LOL.
Mets and Cards fans are gonna hate me for this, but I think Detroit is going to take it all and win the WS. WHAT a team this year... just amazing to watch!

Perhaps it was intended for the Yankees, but it has affected them all.

One more! That double scared me.
Detroit looks tough, and has home field advantage to boot. Then again, home field advantage has not really been a factor in either the NLCS and ALCS.

Billy Wagner is garbage. He is the A-Rod of closers. Lights out until the pressure is on, then he meltsdown. I can't stand him and have not trusted him in tight spots all season. They were lucky they got those 2 extra insurance runs for him.
