I'm still not convinced this isn't a parody.
That's how it is with the left these days.

I think we're living in Orwell's "1984". This kind of word game nonsense happens so often. The ACLU is now going to say that they are a conservative organization? Holy Toledo.

Conservative? Just what exactly does the ACLU mean by "conservative"? After they explain that word away, I suppose they could also help us understand the meaning of "sex" and "is" in their alternative reality.

"Since its founding, the ACLU has fought to conserve the system of checks and balances and defend the Bill of Rights"
And not one dime defending the Second Amendment! Last I knew, it was part of the Bill of Rights. Conservative, by arse...

The ACLU wants to conserve some things, you bet they do. They want to conserve all the destruction done to the Constitution by leftist radicals like themselves.
They also want to conserve the lie that the Constitution is a document that does not mean anything except whatever an amoral leftwing activist judge says it means.
So, the ACLU does in fact want to conserve, they want to conserve every lie they have been able to insert into the American culture as a means of destroying America.

More and more conservatives and libertarians are joining the ACLU. I have beef with the ACLU due to their promotion of affirmative action and their lack of defense for gun rights, but this is changing as more conservatives become members (or at least allies). I myself have not joined, but I'm supportive of them when they're right, and if they start taking 2nd Amendment cases I'll sign up.

If it were fake I would have tagged things as satire.

... except for the Second Ammendment ... and the Tenth Ammendment ... and anything else that is not "progressively fashionable."
