Screw you trolls, I'm voting, and I'm Voting all R's!

Screw you trolls, I'm voting and I'm Voting all R's!

I don't know about you, but I have had it up to and including my A$$ with all the whining that is going on around here about what the Republicans have or have not done to deserve your vote this November.. I know for sure that if we had the Democrats in power the past 10 years it would be a hell of a lot worse, with or without President Bush.. I'm not entirely happy about many things that are happening, (fill in the blank, with garbage on the other threads), but I am thrilled that I am not paying as much in taxes as I would have with (fill in the blank with any jackass in the Democrat leadership).. And I am grateful as all get out, that we are not ducking terrorist bombs in my neighborhood, or anywhere else in these United States..

I think I can say without any reservations that Roberts and Alito are a whole lot better than anyone that Leaky Leahy or Turban Durbin would have approved.. And what about our military? Would we still have one if congress wasn't in our control?

Give me a friggin break, I haven't found one single person that makes all of my dreams come true, (even Nicole Kidman, I think) why should I expect more than a half dozen out of 435 Congressgritters to even agree with me on most of what I want done in our country.. Hell, I don't even get that in my own home with blood of my blood that even look like me!

So if it's all the same with you.. and YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, I'm going to wake up on November 7th and make a great big special breakfast, with all the trimmin's and invite all of my kids and as many neighbors as I think I can bribe with food and feed them until they say Uncle Sam and drive their fat a$$es to the polls and get them to pull the lever for everyone with an R after their name to insure that I can sleep peacefully that night and hopefully ever night thereafter..

That's my plan, don't be a damned fool and mess up my vote with some stupid idea that will cancel mine out, just to prove that you can be as dumb as you sound!

All R's for me. The time to push the party to the right is in the primaries - let's not shoot ourselves in the general election! Get out and VOTE and shock the dimrats again!

There is a dingy little Italian Diner(Marcelli's Raviolis) here in Eureka that's been making a Brown/Meat Sauce for their Pasta that keeps calling me back over 40 years.

My dear FRiend, those dingy little Italian Diners or cafes are where we all got our start and where you can find the very best foods. Success becomes our worst nightmare because we can't really prepare the delicate old family recipes in such volume as necessitated in a popular restaurant.. This is what I would guess is the fabulous Brown/Meat Sauce is.. There are so many variations and all of them are wonderful, but it can cause a fight within an Italian family.. I hope this is it, I know it's great..

CLASSIC SAUCE BOLOGNESE

Pasta Bolognese sauce is served as a first course or as a side dish with a lightly breaded chicken or veal scaloppini.
Even though this sauce is usually paired with spaghetti, it's better with a pasta noodle like tagliatelle or lasagna.

    * 14 oz. ground veal, pork, beef, sausage meat or any combination of them
    * 5 small cloves of garlic, minced (small cloves are the most flavorful)
    * 2 Tbs.. olive oil
    * 2 Tbs. salted butter
    * 3 - 4 yellow onions, finely chopped
    * 1 lb. roma tomatoes, blanched and peeled
    * 1 sm. can, tomato paste
    * 3 bay leaves
    * 1 small carrot, finely diced
    * 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
    * 1/2 cup dry white or red wine, something you would drink
    * Salt and freshly ground pepper
    * 1 ts basil, dry, or 2 ts. fresh
    * 1 ts. oregano, dry (optional)
    * Fresh grated Parmesan Reggiano for serving

1) Wash and chop all the vegetables, removing the strings from the celery before chopping.
2) Sauté the onion, carrot and celery over a med-low heat in oil (or oil and butter); sweat the vegetables until they color slightly;
3) Add the minced garlic, do not burn (garlic becomes bitter when burned)
4) Add the ground meat, or meats and cook over med-low heat, cook thoroughly.
5) Season with salt and pepper; and deglaze with the white or red wine; increase the heat and cook until the wine has reduced.
6) Add the diced tomatoes and the tomato paste, thinned with a small amount of tomato juice, or beef broth.
7) Add bay leaves, basil and oregano, if using, simmer and stir frequently. Increase the heat to medium so that the sauce boils gently. Covert and let simmer for two to three hours, not allowing the sauce to thicken too much, adding more broth as necessary.
If you are using cream, add it an hour before the end of the cooking time; remove the bay leaves before serving. The cream will tend to cut some of the tomato's acidity.
Chef's tips;
    * 1 oz. pancetta, cut into small pieces
    * A slice of smoked ham
    * Basil (preferably fresh), thyme or oregano
    * 1 cup) beef broth
    * 3 Tbs.. cream (15%)
I suggest a simmering time of two to three hours, but if you have the time, let the sauce simmer over lowest heat for up to as much as six hours if possible to enhance the full flavor. stir it regularly so that it doesn't stick, using a wooden spoon. Enjoy!

Look hon, you can slice it in thin little strips and marinate it in milk till next Thursday, cook it at just the right temperature for just the right time and in the end you are still going to have a plate of nasty liver and onions. You can't change the icky texture of the meat or get the gross taste out it no matter what you do to it because it's liver and that's all it will ever be! Really! :P

ROTFL! That is exactly the thing I hear from family OR friends every time I mention liver and onions, Elyse!

I don't know if it is an accquired taste or what, but I have always loved L&O, kidneys, brains, tongue, sweetbreads, the wild taste of duck or deer, all manner of 'exotic' foods.

But then, there are very few foods I don't like! :)

Three FReepcheers for Carlo!

 If you deliberately give your imprimatur to either of these by purposefully voting for either, you have added your consent to that which you complain about. ... In my opinion, at this point in our history, if you vote for either party, you have made of yourself a hypocrite and you bear direct and present responsibility...

Wow, Hi William all to Hell.. so NOW I'M A HYPOCRITE, well so be it! Isn't it a bit futile to be doing this after the horses have left the gate, the primaries are the time to huff and puff IMHO..

However, I share your frustration, but I will not allow the liberals to take us back to the stone age to prove a friggin point.. and by the way.. I WILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MY ACTIONS! Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to vote I go .. STRAIGHT R TICKET FOR ME, hi ho, hi ho, hi  ho.. :)

Uhmmm...yeah, and I'm sure it tastes just like chicken. I wish I had a nickle for every 'you're gonna love this liver cuz it's different' recipe I've ever tasted.

Don't hold back Elyse, tell us what you REALLY think.. LOLOLOLOLOL I do understand, it isn't for everyone, not even in my own house.. I have a son and daughter who will fake a stroke to keep from coming into the kitchen when I am cooking this stuff...

BUDGE, we are soul mates with this but we lost Elyse and others I suppose.. :)

Done right, a show trial can go our way.

Firstly, there's no such thing as a "show trial done right", unless I suppose you are Dear Leader or some such. Secondly, are you nuts?

Vote????

OF COURSE I WILL VOTE!!

I live in the Washington, DC area, and I had an aunt and uncle visit me last week-end. The uncle fought in WWII -- he was a soldier at Guadacanal. My aunt worked in a bomber plant during the war. They are both in their 80's.

They wanted to go to the WWII Memorial, and I was honored to take them there.

THEY FOUGHT AND WORKED so that I could VOTE in 2006.

And I will proudly vote for each person with an "R" after his name.

Don't hold back Elyse, tell us what you REALLY think..

Okay, I admit I have issues with liver. My liver lovin' mama's mission in life was to make her children love liver as much as she did. We HAD to EAT it once a month and she tried to cook it every way under the sun to find a way to hook us on it.

The end results are two of her children love liver, two of her children will politely eat a small portion of her liver even though they don't care for it and the last two children will say, keep your stinkin liver! and order in a pizza to eat. I'm sure you can figure out which category I fall under. :)

I agree.

With the stock market breaking records, and the lowest unemployment in the whole 40 years the dems held the government, anyone who listens to their drivel, is a fool.

Personally, I judge people, and governments, on what they DO, not what they say. When you're being seduced, they'll say anything to get your vote, but when morning comes, they'll be off to the next victim.

So far as I can tell, the democratic party is full of, well, weirdos. They are a bunch of special interest groups who try....TRY....to come together at election time and claim an AGENDA...the only problem is, they have no unified agenda...other than RAISING TAXES ON THE REST OF US TO PAY FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL SPECIAL INTERESTS.

Now, if you're one of the infamous "single issue" voters, voting for the one who mentioned your pet peeve in some obscure speech, then you go ahead and do that; if you think you've been appointed by God to punish a particular Republican because your pet peeve didn't get addressed to your satisfaction, then you go ahead.

However, if you're mature enough not to be swooned by shiny beads and baubles, then maybe you'll take in a little history and see exactly who has the interest of the country at heart, and who is only lusting after power.

You'll be able to recognize something that America has seemed to have lost in the past 50 years...CLASS. Anyone can plot and scheme to tear others down, but what we need is people who will do what is right, no matter what the damn polls say.

Democrats/Liberals are like the old "crabs in the bucket" story...every time one tries who crawl out to freedom, the others tend to pull him back in by trying to crawl over him and use him as a ladder...then, they all fall back in.

So, anyone who thinks it will be better based on the rosy predictions of losers like clinton(s), kerry, kennedy, and their ilk, you need a history lesson, and not the modified history the media is turning out.

America is a wonderful place, but a lazy, spoiled populace is going to mess around until we're a 3rd world country, and we all get shot for refusing to embrace islam.

With the mass influx of "immigrants" who don't share our National pride and beliefs, it's just a matter of "numbers". They're all singing "We Shall Overcome" and we're holding hands and swaying to half-hearted choruses of "Kum ba Ya" (sp?).
