If you do not vote, then do not complain
vanity | 10/16/06 | Cobra64

I've been reading so many posts from FReepers who said they are not going to vote or will vote for a third party to "show Republicans that I don't support their actions."

Quite frankly, I am very disappointed in many of the actions of Republicans who are supposed to be Conservative. By nature, I am more of a supporter of the Constitution Party because the United States Constitution is what makes America unique. All else is secondary.

Regardless, when I think about the larger issue, America's security, I cannot bring myself not to vote for the Republicn party. The Constitution party will never win. My objective is more focussed on getting more Republicans to think more about the Constitution and forget socialism, and political correctness.

It is obvious that the Democrats' hatred of our President is so deep that they do not love our countyr.

Kerry, Pelosi, Murtha are exemplary of so many Democrats.

If you don't vote... Don't complain when the Democrats decide to pull another Viet Nam and commit us to defeat.

They just want to embolden our enemies, causing more death to our military, and more attempts like 9-11.

If Democrats take over Congress, those here who did not vote have themselves to thank.

And to show you that I am really conservative, I have to vote for those in Congress who voted for giving 20+million lawbreakers amnesty ?

I must have missed that vote - I don't recall Congress giving amnesty to the illegals. When did that happen?

If you do not vote, then do not complain

Unless you're a Democrat. Then, by all means, don't vote!

With our system, it doesn't really matter since I am in IL and the state goes Dem regardless. But, since the public has started talking about the popular vote, I will probably vote my useless vote R anyway.

Pelosi has NOTHING to do with what I said. I vote Republican in my district, in my state, and in national elections. If the GOP runs a liberal, they don't get that vote. Simple. If you want to avoid a Speaker of the House Pelosi, then run conservatives on the ballot, and stop embracing liberals or RINOs.

I voted, so I can complain:

What happened with being FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE?

What happened with SECURING OUR BORDERS?

What happened with Cheny's claim that "high energy prices are a sign of a failed presidency"?

What happened?

Sorry but using 9-11 to scare people into voting for your political party is exploiting a tragedy. The republicans don't need to resort to that stuff to win.

It's not a scare tactic. Either you're a troll, or have been living under a rock for the last five years.

Let's get some feedback from loyal Americans on your remark.

Here's mine:

"Do I strike?"

Well, I will be voting..and it will be the straight GOP line this time.
This is directly due to the threat of the realistic alternative.

However, complaining is a right for every American, voting or not...

If I were to help vote-in a RHINO, do I forfeit the right to complain about him later?

Technochick99, I am in the same boat as you. All my local and district races are controlled by Democrats. We win on statewide elections (US Senators Dole & Burr) and we always go GOP in the presidential vote. I just think if I am going to waste a vote, it might as well be for a worthy cause such as conservatism.

I have a friend that does nothing but bitch about the Republicans, but has never voted in his life.........

I bitch about the free spending Republican Congress and Senate, and W signing those bills all the time. And I get flamed by Bushbots. Since I voted for the man, I feel I have the right to criticise the man. I'd vote for W again because he believes in the WOT; Kerry & Co. do not.

Right you are!

As in every pre-election period, we have a couple of obvious DUmmies on the thread trying to influence the week.

I am with cripplecreek. I haven't missed voting in an General Election since 1968, my first one eligible. But no one has the right to tell me who to or who not to vote for.

This is FreeRepublic not the RNC official site.

We have no room in this election for Pyhrric victories, the Dems are dangerously irresponsible on foreign policy and I'm not for national suicide.

Just a bit more. It really isn't anyone else's business for whom and why I cast my vote.

Do you even understand that many of us live in districts or states that have no sigificance in this election?

Okay, I will now walk into the firestorm.

Bush is an excellent president. Bush is a conservative. He has won conservative battles such as tax cuts, stem cells, court nominees and the WOT.

Bush NEVER campaigned on illegal immigration. People who want immigration as the top issue should have and should still have to win primaries with such candidates. Take pat Buchannan for example. He is a great American traitor who favors strict immigration controls.

I voted in Ohio primaries to have a conservative run for Governor-- Blackwell. That is how you send a signal. I really do not care if Blackwell loses-- though I still think he can win. I do not like voting for Dewine but there is no way I would vote for a democrat to be senator or withhold my vote for DeWine.

People who think whining about immigration or spending has anything to do with the November elections are flat wrong. Your choices in that arena were during the primaries. If that escaped your attention then too bad.

If you stay home then you are pro-democrat-- end of story.

"I smell a RAT"

That would be Ken Mehlman, bringing in all the RINO and liberal candidates, posing as actual Republicans. Get rid of Mehlman and you will regain the party.
