Strange bedfellows: It turns out that ultra-hot conservative talk show host Michael Savage is backing Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown for state attorney general. "What can I say? I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?'' Savage said, when asked why he chose Democrat Brown over conservative Republican Chuck Poochigian. Savage, whose rants can be heard locally on KNEW-AM, is backing up his hot talk with some hot money as well. Savage Productions, which lists Savage as president and his wife, Janet Weiner, as director, has donated $5,600 to Brown's campaign. "You have to make choices in an imperfect world,'' Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy. (Like we said, it's Poochigian.) I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is." Poochigian has spent the past 12 years in Sacramento, first in the Assembly and now in the Senate. Doesn't impress the president of the Savage Nation. "Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?'' So how did the best-selling author of "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder'' wind up backing a liberal once nicknamed "Governor Moonbeam"? "People change. He changed. He has experience,'' Savage said of Brown. "He started the Oakland military academy -- that was a good thing." And Brown's politics? "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs," Savage said.

You got it. One day his talking points come from the Daily Kos and the Huffington Post; the next day they come from Patrick Buchannan or Lew Rockwell.
It means that we have better chance of protecting this country with Republicans in power then Dims and are willing to curtail criticism for a few short weeks to keep Republicans in power.

To be correct, and I would agree if, you replace 'Republicans' with 'Conservatives'. Yes, there is no way that the ThugoRats can be put in power -- it will be a socialistic disaster for America. I will vote for the Repubs, as I always have. But not much longer unless they get back to conservatism, working for America instead of their own politics. And the whipped cream on it all, is that we DEARLY need a conservative President, a strong one that is not running on personal utopian agendas, and is truly and partiotically dedicated to the preservation of our soverignty, and the rights and liberties of the American citizen.
Funny how often they end up under the same roof.
"I wonder what he thinks now."
Same as before: "duhhhhhhhhh."
Hatred? Boy you are sensitive. All I have heard is some competitive ribbing and ridicule about Rush being a BushBot.
Conservative Jedi Master says: Don't put words in my mouth, don't try and deflect the arguement away from focus, don't assume that I am far/against those not in focus. Talk about the subject at hand, i.e., Savage supports a moonbat for California AG.
Phoney. Conservative principles thrown out with the garbage.
See: #93. Notice it never got a response.
Yes.. Better to blow themselves up there than here.... I bet you would prefer that we build a wall, pull our troops out of other nations and live in a fantasy world that if we ignore the problem, they won't come here? Correct?
You're right, he's changed. Especially after he was syndicated nationally, things really started getting crazy.
All of a sudden he'd switch into a completely different Mike; McCain's bad, no, wait, McGain's good. In fact, McCain's GREAT..!
The same on a myriad of different things. For awhile there, if I didn't like the show, I'd switch off until the next day, and presto! It'd be back to the orginal Mike.
And then there was constant talk about Italian yachts, Ferrari Modenas, LA mansions, LA lifestyle...lots and lots of LA/Hollywood stuff. And name-dropping of folks I hated.
It was Mike wanted to turn into that high-living, 1970's porn director caricature played by Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights. You know...with the shades and neck cravat number...?
Hey, Russ is a great guy, but I think via Russ Mike was trying to vicariously re-live his youth, or something.
It was off-putting and totally at odds with his Outsider Image. Instead of spurned outsider shows 'em by making good, all of a sudden it was Insider, Insider, I'm big Mr. Insider.
And that's just not rock and roll.
"The world is still the world according to the New York Times business section. It's all about mergers, the Dow. But there's a movement coming. And capitalism is definitely shaky now. It's shaky because it's based on insatiable desires in a biologically limited world." (Jerry Brown).
"We have to deal with where we are. We have to create cooperatives, we have to create intentional communities, we have to work for local cooperation where we are." (Jerry Brown)
"Where there is a sufficient social movement of self-reliant communities, there can be political change. There must be political change." (Jerry Brown)
"When the farmer can sell directly to the consumer, it is a more active process. There's more contact. The consumer can know, who am I buying this from? What's their name? Do they have a face? Is the food they are selling coming out of Mexico with pesticides?" (Jerry Brown)
"Prisons don't rehabilitate, they don't punish, they don't protect, so what the hell do they do?" (Jerry Brown)
One wonders why exactly you are on a conservative web forum complaining about "ultra rightists."
"Competitive ribbing and ridicule"?
Then consider what I say about Savage as "ribbing and ridicule".
"So we should just bomb the nation and then leave and let the terrorist take it over correct??"
Over three decades ago the Upper East Side liberals in New York found it chic to entertain the Black Panthers in their Penthouses. Given the proclivities of the current crop, it is not too hard to imagine them "using diplomacy" on the terrorists in the same manner if the Pelosies and Reids and Murtha's take over. "Oh look Mohammad, The UN building is over there, and all the way down is where the World Trade Center used to be." Beautiful, isn't it?"
Does Geroge Bush donate $5,000 dollars to former Gov. moonbeam as michael moonbeam weiner savage has.
NapkinUser, many here actually agree with you on many of these points, but we are now 3 WEEKS AWAY FROM THE ELECTION. What good is it to re-hash all this now, as Savage and you are, and to do so for the next three weeks? Who does it help?
Republicans? I don't think so.
Democrats? Absolutely.
I ask all: Will this incessant, non-stop Bush and Republican bashing help keep Republicans in power or not?
I also ask all: Will we be in better shape with the Dims controlling the House, the Senate, or both??
And again I say, as bad as Republicans have been on numerous subjects, having even a minute part in putting Democrats in power is insane.
You know as well as I that the peeples can be swayed by opinion. It is reality, it is just the way it is. I do not like it! But it is the truth. The peeples are not political junkie like Freepers are for a variety of reasons. If only 1/10 of 1% of potential Republican voters decide not to vote, or vote for a third party or Democrat, that could have a disasterous effect.
He's one of those guys that you really don't want "on your side." Drives me nuts every time I have to listen to him, when nothing else is on.
I support a wall on the border to slow down the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants if that is what you're going on about. Don't you?
No kidding. Now they'll us that the TRUE conservatives contribute to the Democrats like Savage.
