Strange bedfellows: It turns out that ultra-hot conservative talk show host Michael Savage is backing Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown for state attorney general. "What can I say? I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?'' Savage said, when asked why he chose Democrat Brown over conservative Republican Chuck Poochigian. Savage, whose rants can be heard locally on KNEW-AM, is backing up his hot talk with some hot money as well. Savage Productions, which lists Savage as president and his wife, Janet Weiner, as director, has donated $5,600 to Brown's campaign. "You have to make choices in an imperfect world,'' Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy. (Like we said, it's Poochigian.) I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is." Poochigian has spent the past 12 years in Sacramento, first in the Assembly and now in the Senate. Doesn't impress the president of the Savage Nation. "Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?'' So how did the best-selling author of "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder'' wind up backing a liberal once nicknamed "Governor Moonbeam"? "People change. He changed. He has experience,'' Savage said of Brown. "He started the Oakland military academy -- that was a good thing." And Brown's politics? "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs," Savage said.

I heard Weiner berate Republicans for not supporting the minimum wage, and when I brought it up to the Savage psychofants on the Freerepublic, they ignored this fact, slammed Rush Limbaugh, and posted pictures of a buffet.
Savage had a guest host last week which brought up the point of the Republicans being on the right side by refusing to support the minimum wage. His own guest hosts don't much agree with him and are more conservative then Dr. Weiner is.
My only hope is that the strength of them being a Freeper, will overcome the effect Savage has on them.
"Explain how some conservatives or Michael Savage are useful idiots for terrorists."
By droning on about knee-jerk, idiotic positions (e.g., the ports deals, gas/oil prices, military procedures and rationales) that belie his complete ignorance of economics, security, the way the military works, and markets he: (1) falls for Dim talking points; (2) hurts convertive morale; ; (3) turns off thinking conservatives; and (4) makes conservatives look like idiots.
So, yes, he's nigh as harmful to this nation as any liberal member of the MSM, perhaps more so, as he is really a Fifth Column member.
In 1976, 1980, and 1992 the people who supported his Presidential bids tended to come from outside the liberal establishment. In that respect, Brown has been similar to Gene McCarthy, though McCarthy was more a real rebel or dissenter, and Brown more of an imitation.
Jerry probably wouldn't have made a very good President, but people I knew and liked voted for Brown in the 1992 primary because it looked as though he wasn't simply more "politics as usual," and Savage, who's himself very much of an iconoclast may feel something of the same attraction.
And guess which "idiot radio talk show host located in San Francisco" support Toomey over Specter?
Moonbat supports a moonbat - this is news?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,
let me guess!!!!!!!!!!
What center is that?
So, you supported the Dubai ports deal and the way the Iraq war is currently being fought? You think it's a-okay to send our men door-to-door to die instead of blowing up an area to rid Iraq of terrorists?
"Fight like WWII, finish like WWII. Fight like Vietnam, finish like Vietnam."
2 decades ago he wrote a book warning about the threat of drug-resistant strains of disease posed by illegal immigrants from 3rd world countries. That issue was not even remotely on the radar screen at that time. California taxpayers are being walloped by the cost of antibiotic resistant TB today. The guy was WAY ahead of Limbaugh on immigration and embacing of the SwiftVets. Someone tell me which liberals lined up behind the SwiftVets and Sinclair. The guy is a hard-right Conservative who also is a little batty at times. He probably could use some Prozac, but it would make him less interesting. Sometimes I yell at the radio when he does things like this, but overall I agree with most of his positions.
Do you listen to his show, because I do.
I thought the Dubai ports deal was not a big issue.. Looks like you believe the media spin that things are going bad in Iraq.....
Radio moonbeam supporting fromer Gov. moonbeam.
I stand corrected. I'll also stick up for the copy editors here. Poor spelling and grammar diminish the credibility of the post, no matter how good the substance of the argument.
I listened to his very first radio program on KGO in San Francisco, might have been 94 or so. He was guest hosting. His schtick that he uses now wasn't there. He was soft spoken, expressed probably mildly right of center views, and that lasted maybe the first few shows he did.
Then "Michael Savage" as we know him came out. It's schtick. It's an act for all of them. They don't talk that way at home, except maybe Hannity. I have heard that Hannity warts and all, is Hannity all the time.
They are entertainers. Enjoy their shows or not.
Actually, if you have kept a close eye here on FR, you will see that most of Savages complaints have been echoed here.
As we are now just weeks away from the election, the difference now is most Freepers realize that as bad as the Republicans have been on numerous subjects, it will be better to pinch our nose and vote Republican rather than allow the Dims to assume control.
Once we achieve that goal, go right into criticism mode of Republicans with the hope of getting them to change.
This does NOT mean that we are compromising our principles. It means we believe in the survival of our country more than spouting about our principles for a few short weeks. It means that we have better chance of protecting this country with Republicans in power then Dims and are willing to curtail criticism for a few short weeks to keep Republicans in power.
If the Dims take over, can anyone here honestly say that they will do a better job of:
Protecting the borders
Getting rid of illegals
Fighting the war on terror
Taxes
Judicial approvals or disapprovals
Republicans have not done a particularly good job in a lot of things, but looking at the kooks on the Dim side, I cannot chance being even a small part of pushing Dims into power!!
Evidently Savage has other ideas.
PhD ... Piled high and Deep
Yes I do, quite often.
Yes I can...he is a moron.
