Agents raid homes of Rep. Curt Weldons daughter, close friend By John Shiffman, Mitch Lipka and Patrick Kerkstra INQUIRER STAFF WRITERS
Federal agents raided the home of the daughter of U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R., Pa.) and his longtime friend Charlie Sexton this morning.
The agents departed Karen Weldon's three-story brick home on Queen Street in Philadelphia with arms loaded with boxes.
A government car pulled into the alley to the back door of the house and loaded boxes into it. Three agents standing in an alley declined to identify themselves.
"I can confirm that we conducted a number of searches regarding an ongoing investigation," said FBI agent Jerri Williams, a spokeswoman in Philadelphia. "Details regarding those investigation cannot be provided because the accompanying affidavit is sealed."
In Delaware County, FBI agents had blocked off Kelli Lane leading to Charles P. Sexton Jr.'s Springfield house, and were removing at least one box and a bag of material from his home late this morning. Sexton, a long time ally of Weldon and a power in Delaware County GOP politics for more than three decades, is a business associate of Weldon's daughter.
The raids came three days after news broke that the FBI is investigating whether the Delaware County congressman used his influence to help his daughter, a registered lobbyist, win consulting contracts.

Daschle's wife was a lobbyist, I think Lieberman's wife still is a pharmaceutical lobbyist. Elaine Chao was lobbying while married to Mitch McConnell before she worked for the administration. Those are the major ones I know. There are tons more though of course. It's a big con to grease candidates. I am a fan of Curt Weldon, but to suggest that his daughter would have generated $1,000,000 in one year as a first year lobbyist is ridiculous. He likely didn't do anything wrong actually. Money gets thrown at lobbyists. If you are related to a politician, the spigots downpour. It needs to be stopped.
It should be a major campaign issue. Daschle really ticked me off with his. The Majority Leader of the Senate, wife lobbying. No conflicts there.

Not at all. It is amusing to watch Hillary being given credit for things she has NOTHING to do with. Just as it is to watch the Leftist Moonbats blame everything on Rove.

Rest assured I have no blind party faith, other than the faith the both parties are corrupt, and perhaps irredeemably so.

The Dems and their allies know that the Republicans always do the "right thing" and resign at the first sign of trouble unlike the Democrats who stay and let the MSM fight for them.

Perhaps, but I would not underestimate the influence of the Clintons in Washington.

But doesn't the timing of this raid, 3 weeks before the election, strike you as very strange? Why is the FBI, under a GOP administration, raiding a GOP congressmen three weeks before a crucial election? The timing of this strikes me as very odd.

Yes, but that does not imply Hillary has anything to do with it.

Why do you think it is the Clintons that are orchestrating the DOJ/FBI attack on Weldon? After all, it was the Bush Administration that deleted the last copy of the Able Danger data . . .

Perhaps there is much, much more to Able Danger than meets the eye. Or less. Weldon promised incredible revelations when he was finally able to get his witnesses heard by congress. But then the whole thing seemed to fizzle. Apparently other members of congress weren't much impressed with the "evidence" he was able to produce. Whatever was discussed in secret session didn't seem to produce much action. Weldon doesn't seem to have been talking about it much lately.

It is as plausible as a claim that Ken Starr was appointed special prosecutor because of GHW Bush.

I've watched the dirty back-stabbing politics-of-personal-destruction tactics of the Clintons for 14 years. Anything's possible with these cretins.
