We all Declare War on Democrats sooner or later. Democrats are really lame to make an issue over Walmart.

For a place that only sells pretty junky stuff, they sure do keep giving me reasons to come back.

I had never gone to a Walmart for clothes, but I picked up a few casual "polo" style shirts for about $12 each... They seem fairly well made, and quite comfortable. The same sort of shirts at a department store go for 2 or 3 times more.

And I just picked up a 10 pack of VHS tapes for recording Battlestar Galactica episodes for less than $9.00. I went in to the Walmart at 10:00 am on a Saturday, and the place was PACKED!

It's obvious they're doing something right... Maybe selling inexpensive products for a decent price is a good idea.

I'm still waiting to see where Wal-Mart will stand on her candidacy.

All I can tell you is that in the area where I work as a Job Placement professional, my clients are hoping and praying to get to work at Wal-Mart. Its a great job for young people who have never worked. Its a great job for homemakers returning to the work force. It has a career ladder and is about the highest paying job for people without degrees or special skills to to found locally. We have both a Super store and a distribuition center and the job are actively sought after.

I think not . . . although its accuracy has been rightfully questioned a few times. They tend to jump the gun without thoroughly checking their sources from time to time.

Not because the "union shop" employee necessarily gets higher wages, as there is no definitive proof of this.

Good point! And even if they did by the time the Union(s) skim off their membership dues these union shop employee may actually be bringing home no more, or even slightly less, than non-Union Wal-mart employees.

Yeah, most consumers definitely worry about price more than quality. I personally don't mind paying a little more if there's good reason to: for example, I wouldn't buy a TV from Wal-Mart.

Public image must not equate to public buying.

I am not a Wal-Mart fan, but I wouldn't be mad if Wal-Mart pointed that out to others.

• In Chicago's Gold Coast its about $500K to "live".
• In Malibu its what, a $l,000,000 a year.
• In SF and Manhattan maybe $250K for a couple
• BUT in NO it's $17 - $20K

So for arguments sake, say a 'Blue Haired' Chicago heiress from the Gold Coast wants a PT job at a Wal-Mart (to see po folk for kicks), are they suppossed to pay her $500K due to her address?

Actually there is nothing wrong with buying TVs or any other form of home entertainment from Wal-Mart. I have done so and will continue to. They carry the same brands and anyone else, just usually a later model of the product. They are able to buy these in bulk, with a large discount, which they pass on to us. I have heard many people complain about things breaking when they got them from Wal-Mart. The problem is that they throw it off as being a cheap product, when they could have gotten a lemon from any store.

The Star Tribune report stated that "Wal-Mart said it will specifically target local, state and national leaders who appeared this summer at a series of anti-Wal-Mart rallies organized by Wake Up Wal-Mart."
