A former senior presidential aide has accused the Bush administration of using evangelical Christians to win votes but then privately ridiculing them once in office. The allegations by David Kuo, the former deputy director of the White House office of faith-based initiatives, come at a devastating time, when the administration is counting on born-again Christians to vote in sufficient numbers to save the Republicans' hold on Congress in the November elections.
In a book entitled Tempting Faith: an Inside Story of Political Seduction, to be published on Monday, Mr Kuo portrays the Bush White House's commitment to evangelical causes as little more than a cynical facade designed to win votes.
"National Christian leaders received hugs and smiles in person and then were dismissed behind their backs and described as ridiculous, out of control, and just plain goofy," Mr Kuo wrote, according to MSNBC television, which obtained an early copy of the book. In particular, he quotes Karl Rove, the president's long-serving political adviser and mentor, as describing evangelical Christians as "nuts".

Sound like democrats. LIES, LIES, LIES.
This one might win over some libs if they think it means he really isn't Christian.
Because the enemy knows that they are about to loose another election regardsless of what the polls says or what some concervative say.
Some said: " the democrats win polls the republican win elections"
No wonder.
Satan is a liar.
Amen!!!!!!
my gaydar went off when i saw this guy and I thought 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' so i gave little credence to his tome...
i have no evidence to substantiate any of my feelings but when did that ever stop liberals...
teeman
Do talks with NK and handlin' Saddam qualify?
Oh, grow up.
He worked for TED KENNEDY and GARY HART????? You can NEVER be a true Christian and have supported Ted Kennedy!! IMHO!!
Kuo CLAIMS he has Brain Cancer??? Where did he do that?
I watched the interview at a lib friend's house. I predicted (with no foreknowledge) that the guy was paid off by CBS. During the interview they admitted that the book was being sold by a CBS "sister" company. I just laughed and left the room. How predictable: CBS pays some shmuck to bash republicans and the shmuck bashes republicans.
WHY would anyone hire Kuo after he had worked for Ted Kennedy??? Bush is such a Christian, always turning the other cheek.....wish I could do that. KUO should be ASHAMED of himself....some Christian.
Note: I did not say wild-eyed, slobbering, closed-minded, or murderous.
LOL
After seeing the true colors of the Bushies on illegal immigration issue, and their efforts to aid the rehabilitation of the criminal Bubba Klintoon, I will never vote for a member of that family again. I give them credit for their conservative accomplishments, but on the whole, conservatives should see very clearly by now that this family needs to be shunned by those with conservative views and principles.
The president may be an Evangelical, but Rove and the country club RINOs who run much of the party aren't. As for being a loyalist I am in no way a "Party-uber-alles" Republican. I will be a Republican only as long as they represent my positions and values.
