His priorities for the next term, Schwarzenegger says, include reforming the state's dysfunctional prisons and another try at fixing California's jury-rigged redistricting system. His previous attempts to address both problems failed miserably. Paradoxically, however, he may be in a better position to address these issues and others, such as the state's structural budget deficit because he is a Republican. A little partisanship can be healthy in Sacramento, if it serves as a check on the excesses of the legislative or executive branch. And Schwarzenegger and the Democrats in the Legislature now better understand how they give each other political cover.
No such dynamic would exist if Schwarzenegger's opponent, Democratic state Treasurer Phil Angelides, were elected
Angelides may be more specific about many of California's problems. But Schwarzenegger is more likely to solve them. The Times endorses Arnold Schwarzenegger for governor.

Or the new publisher of the LAT is not as far left.
Go Arnold, go Tom!
Be sure to get out and VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET. This is our chance to reelect a Republican governor and pick up Republican seats in a statewide election in CA.
Listen to Tom McClintock:
"Like many of us, I too have disagreements with some of the Governor's proposals. These differences, however, do not justify the abandonment of our party's responsibility to work tirelessly to reelect this Republican governor and to elect our GOP candidates to statewide and legislative offices.
For this reason, I view any effort to attack Governor Schwarzenegger as an attack on my own candidacy and those of every Republican seeking partisan office in 2006. "
Is this the same LA Times that tried to smear him with allegations of fondling just before the recall election?
Angelides is in the Politico ICU wing.. *bbbbzzzaaap*!.. he's gone... he just gone.. we couldn't do nothing about it Jim.
And another heartwarming article:
Gasping for air in their own swimming hole (Dems in CA)

"It's possible Angelides will sour the downballot races," Republican consultant Mike Murphy, a Schwarzenegger confidante, told me recently. "That's certainly a looming possibility," respected Democratic consultant Bill Carrick, agreed.
Angelides, the panicked swimmer, is starting to pull anyone near him under the water. Core Democrats will vote for Democrats for the statewide posts, but the outcomes on Nov. 7 will clearly be decided by tie-breaking, and thus influential, swing voters. Swing voters will decide whether 2006 is a replay of 1994, when Democratic candidate for governor Kathleen Brown badly lost and dragged down her party in statewide races.
McClintock is an anti-spending, anti-regulation, old school fiscal conservative. He supports a shift of state spending away from metastasizing social programs and back to the abandoned California infrastructure, more like things were in the 1960s and '70s. His views don't reflect those of most Californian voters, but voters like him anyway. Polls show McClintock tied with Garamendi.
=====
It will all be decided by turnout. GET OUT AND VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET. It will be a stunning blow to the Dems.
Also, I think articles like this one are read not just in CA, and it may just re-energize Republicans in other states as well to get out and vote and NOT allow the Dems to take over Congress. Let's give them a NOVEMBER SURPRISE!
ALL IS LOST...DEMOCRATS, STAY HOME....GO LOAD UP ON GRANOLA!
where is that Angelides Circus Man pic? LMAO
I hope Tom wins as well. Will he?

The LAT usually doesn't endorse for governor, but our governator is so far ahead of the Dim that they probably figured it was good to get in front of the train. Besides, Arnie isn't in any way a conservative. Our choice is between a moderate leftist and a communist.
Only time will tell if the LAT moves toward the center with this new publisher, but I am not holding my breath, that's for sure.
In fact, let's not vote for any Republican to punish them and lets assure that the pro-lifers get a lock on the Supreme Court and then Hillary can pass out condoms to the military to prove that we all can be miserable. < / insane Freeper purist rant>
If you saw the performance of Oprah/Ahhnold on Leno, you can understand why the LAT endorsed him. Pitiful.

Tied at this point means he will probably win.
This is the type of miracle that gets thing rolling. PTL!
Maybe this is from the new editor of the LAT's.
The kind of people elected thank's to FO's "blind party loyality over principle" logic:
Jim Jeffords (R)
Handed Control of U.S. Senate to Tom Daschle
George H. Ryan (R)
Gave blanket amnesty to every single murderer on Illinois Death Row. Now in jail himself for giving driver's licenes to illegal aliens in exchange for bribes.
Barbara Hafer (R)
Was instrumental in delivering Pennsyania to Ed Rendell (D)
Lowell Weiker (R)
Former "Republican" Senator who voted to the left of Joe Lieberman. Whole-heartedily endorsed Howard Dean for President in 2004. Currently holds fundraisers for Ned Lamont.
Earl Warren (R)
Deranged liberal activist judge who gave criminals a bunch of new "rights" under the constitution. Was so bad that Gerald Ford tried to have him impeached and Eisenhower called him "biggest damned fool mistake I ever made". Arnie considers him a role model though.
Connie Morella (R)
Bush personally campaigned for her re-election to Congress. She later said "If Congress has to decide the contested election in Florida, I'm voting for Gore"
Mark Foley (R)
Pro-abortion, pro-gay closet Dem who dragged down GOP leadership thanks to his fetish for male pages
Yes, FO, honesty and integrity does NOT matter. Issues do NOT matter. Qualifications do NOT matter. We don't need to know ANYTHING about the candidate other than the fact they have an "R" next to their names on the ballot. Just look for the "R", don't even bother to educate yourslf about who the candidate is, and punch every "R" slot you can find. Vote party over principle every time.
If Gray Davis and Hillary Clinton tossed an "R" next to their names tomarrow, we know they can count on you to vote for him. Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago, the biggest Dem machine crook on the planet, was first elected to the assembly with an "R" next to his name solely because it was a special election and the "D" slot was already taken (he switched back to "D" within a few weeks) Obviously he'd have your support, because we must VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN, right?
Be sure to send George Ryan a Christmas card in jail for your liberal buddies, okay?
And without them the DEMS WOULD CONTROL CONGRESS.
I guess you can't wait for Speaker Pelosi.
Let's defeat all the RINOs and hand Congress and the country over to the leftist socialist Dems, so they can destroy the country and kill us all with their weak on terror and stupid foreign policies. What a terrific idea!(/sarc)
ANYONE WHO ISN'T GETTING OUT TO VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET TO DEFEAT THE DEMS, IS NO CONSERVATIVE AND HAVE HO RIGHT TO CALL THEMSELVES ONE.
Any conservative who doesn't get out and actively vote for Republicans, IS voting for the Dems.
