Yes, Chris, North Korea tested a nuclear weapon on Bush's watch. Similarly, Hitler and the Holocaust happened on Franklin Delano Roosevelt's watch. So what? We can see your bias, Chris, but your logic is a tad faulty, eh?

I love listening to Russert in the opening of MTP. "The Dems need to gain six seats to gain control of the senate" You can hear the hopefull glee in his voice.

Bob Schieffer: "I don't know anyone in the world who is talking about attacking North Korea."

If Necessary, Strike and Destroy: North Korea Cannot Be Allowed to Test This Missile, By Ashton B. Carter and William J. Perry, Thursday, June 22, 2006; Washington Post, Page A29

How convenient for Schieffer to forget, eh, in order to make his rhetorical point? Maybe he was out wooing Katie Couric and missed the news? Maybe a preemptive attack should be an option left on the table?

Wolf Blitzer doing a story on "Who's to blame for NK's nuclear test? Clinton or Bush?"

Wanna guess what Wolf thinks?

MEET THE PRESS Democrat Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota candidates for U.S. Senate.

Tim Russert passed up an opportunity to ask the followup question that nobody asks Democrats when they suggest that US troops should be withdrawn from Iraq into Kuwait;

"What happens when the sectarian violence in Iraq caused by foreigners follows the US troops into Kuwait? Where do you strategically relocate to then?"

If only somebody would ask that question.

AAA’s Meet the Press Thoughts
Filed under: Miscellany — By: Andy Aplikowski —October 15, 2006 @ 10:31 am
We saw the real Amy Klobuchar today. The one that when backed into a corner with her own words, claws and scratches the eyes out of people who are simply quoting her. She became noticeably bothered when quotes were read to her.

1) She said that there was no social security for illegals in the Amnesty border bill.
FACT: It was in there, and then some.
Refundable tax credits, Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare, Food Stamps, Child Nutrition funding, Compensation for error, Supplemental Security Income, Unemployment Insurance, and Student loans. CBO (For more see yesterday’s posts, 1 & 2.)

2) She completely dodges the question regarding the 5700 minnesota families who make more than $200,000.

First, she didn’t change the amount. I noticed a while back that there were versions. One was $366,000 and one was $200,000. Obviously she has been misleading people that she would only raise it on those making more than $366,000. Russert said it more than once, the $200,000 amount. When she did finally start to speak after how she feels about raising taxes on 5700 Minnesotans families, she went into how it was part of her plan. Billions here. Billions there. etc etc.

3) Klobuchar displayed her unreadiness for being a US Senator. She clearly can’t handle having to just plain say yes or no. When casting votes in Congress, you do not have the luxury to only vote for half of the final version.

4) Iraq, she’s all over the board on this one. She doesn’t even know what her stance is anymore. She wants out, she wants to win, but doesn’t want more troops and wants them out. She wants to put troops in neighboring countries so they can go back in to Iraq if things go badly.

In my mind Amy Klobuchar really hurt herself today. She seemed like a typical liberal who can sit back and throw partisan bombs all day, but the second their own words are read on air before them, they fall apart.

More to come soon….

Check it out.

It is quite doubtful that HBO’s Bill Maher knew what he was in for when he scheduled Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute to be on his “Real Time” panel Friday night. After all, with CNN’s Lou Dobbs and liberal actor Ben Affleck surrounding her, it seemed highly unlikely the lone conservative in the discussion would survive the scrum, let alone win the debate. However, not only did Pletka hold her own, but she also ended up schooling Maher and Affleck on a virtual plethora of geopolitical issues making this one of the more enjoyable Friday Night Fights in recent memory (video link to follow).

Thank you for posting this weekly thread on the Sunday talk shows. I have not watched last week's offerings, including Beltway Boys on Sat, nor this week's either. I doubt that I will tune in again until after the election. All I was hearing were poll results from whatever source could be dredged up and they all spelled doom for the GOP. I am grateful for all who have taken the trouble to keep us informed of the latest wisdom of the media experts. My son called and told me that Juan Williams was the most positive about the election, or maybe the least pessimistic, for the GOP. He also asked what was up with the radio talking heads, not RUSH, and some on FOX, and I told him that apparently their futures in the media business were linked to a Republican defeat. We expect the Republicans to win and the media and RATS to lose. We prayed George Bush in both times and that kind of prayer is what will win this election as well.
