SAN FRANCISCO Bayview store clerk attacked in jail cell

Inmates at San Francisco County Jail attacked on Friday a store clerk who is being held for allegedly shooting a suspected shoplifter, in the latest fallout from an incident that has heightened tensions in San Francisco's Bayview community.

Haggag Mohsin, 21, was attacked after pleading not guilty to two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of firing into an occupied vehicle. He was ordered held on $250,000 bail.

When he was returned to a holding cell at the Hall of Justice, inmates attacked him and broke his nose, authorities said.

He was treated by jail medical staff and then taken to San Francisco General Hospital, said Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Eileen Hirst.

"It appears he was punched in the face," Hirst said. "There was blood on his face."

Mohsin was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly shot into a car parked outside his family's clothing store at Third Street and Oakdale Avenue, wounding 40-year-old Debbie Smith in the back.

Mohsin told police he believed Smith and another woman in the car were among five people he suspected of having shoplifted several pairs of shoes from the store.

Early the next morning, someone threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of the store, Pop Ya Collar, starting a fire that caused $75,000 in damage. Several residents who live above the store and adjoining businesses escaped unharmed.

Hirst said sheriff's officials will decide how to house Mohsin once he is released from the hospital.

I don't think you shoot someone sitting outside in a car because you think they are a shoplifter. You get their plate number, maybe, and call the police.

If the guy is muzzie, I don't care that he was struck, but it's still true that in Bayview, the locals more or less feel the whole world owes them a living. And the cops are completely unresponsive to property crime, since they're busy with violent crime.

I don't blame the guy a bit for using his gun, but once again, if he's muzzie, good that he was arrested and struck in jail.

Arab shopkeeper shoots black shoplifter - SF authorities are so anxious to avoid appearing racist that they stick him in with black inmates instead of segregating him - what did they think was going to happen?

Maybe that's how they do things in Syria.

Look - San Franciso Values says that if you run into a criminal - LET THEM DO WHATEVER THEY WANT. Otherwise we will fine you and jail you.

And, if the rats take over the Congress, the whole country will be like that.

So Mr. Mohsin, an islamofacist, decided to shoot a 41 year old lady in the back as she sat in her car, just because ol' Haggag thought she might have stolen some shoes.

Well think about it folks. This is likely how they deal with shoplifters in those islamofascist rat holes of the middle east; in fact this is pretty much how muslim males treat all their women anway. Do not forget, this is the type of "law and order" they are trying to bring to America with them.

Islam is the single biggest threat that America has ever faced. Germany and Japan were fools to take on America, a towering industrial giant with a big population and a proud, strong, patriotic people. But islam is a far more dangerous threat to us than was Germany and Japan, because American patriotism is all but dead and these moslems are burning with a medieval fire for thier faith and heritage. They are sleazy, murderous and bold. They are an insideous enemy, patient and wiser in the (evil) things of the world than we are. If we fail to recognize the totality of this huge problem, I fear greatly for the Americans who are but children now. There's will be a world engulfed in violence, blood, dread and darkness, because islam wants them either bowing east to mohammed's rotting corpse, or islam wants them dead.

The lady in question was not likely an asset to our society.

Nevertheless, poor judgement on the part of the Syrian gent.

Wow, wrong on all counts. His life was not in any sort of immediate danger that would justify use of a firearm. That puts ALL of us in a bad light (See? those gun nuts! Ban 'em all!) and just gives the antis more to use against us. WTF is a "muzzie?" If it's some sort of ethnic term, you brand yourself a bigot and that's not in keeping with the FR standards of conduct. I'm surprised...actually astonished seeing that you're an old timer here.
