What If The Liberals Win In November?
CNS News ^ | 10/12/06 | Susan Jones

Posted on 10/13/2006 10:03:32 AM PDT by Froufrou

A conservative advocacy group is not only asking the "what if" question, it's answering it - in an email message that urges conservatives to get out and vote in November.

The midterm elections are "very important," the American Family Association says. "As bad as things are, they will be infinitely worse if the liberals win."

The AFA offers the following list (verbatim) of what conservatives can expect if Democrats regain control of Congress:

-- Amnesty for 12,000,000 illegal immigrants.

-- A push to make homosexual marriage and polygamy legal in all 50 states.

-- Only liberal judges will be appointed. They will create laws to implement the social agenda liberals cannot get passed through the legislative process.

-- Liberals will make the killing of the unborn more difficult to stop.

-- Liberals will continue to try to rid our society of Christian influence, including any reference to God in our Pledge and on our currency.

-- A return to the "Fairness Doctrine" in broadcasting where opposing views must be given equal time. Every conservative talk show host will be forced to give a liberal equal time on every issue. The purpose of this rule will be to shut down conservative talk shows.

-- An increase in taxes to push new social programs.

-- Passing a new "hate crimes" law making it illegal to refer to homosexuality in a negative manner.

-- Liberals will give terrorists from other countries who try to kill Americans the same rights American citizens enjoy under our constitution.

--We will withdraw from Iraq, sending the message to the terrorists that if they will just be patient they can win and bring their terrorist acts to the U.S.

The American Family Association is warning conservatives that the liberals' strategy is to disgust and discourage Values Voters (about the Mark Foley scandal, for example) to the point where conservatives will stay home rather than vote.

"If that happens, the liberals will have achieved their goal and they will be running our country," AFA Founder and Chairman Don Wildmon said.

In an effort to get more conservatives registered to vote, the American Family Association has set up a ValuesVoters website that offers state-by-state information on the voter registration process, voting dates, absentee ballots and deadlines.

Conservative voters were the largest single largest factor in the 2004 elections, Wildmon said. "Now is no time to let up," he warned.

What If The Liberals Win In November?

They have steadily been winning in every election. They have the entire Democratic Party and they are working on gaining a majority of the Republican Party. To call the Republican Party a conservative party denies the facts. But conservatives like myself have little choice but to go to the polls andvote Republican like I have done all my life. But I am not so blind or stupid as to look back over the last couple elections and realize that CONSERVATIVES have won very little if anything in recent elections. Healthy vibrant elected voices of conservatism are not to be found on the political landscape even though the liberal MSM media mythologizes the right wing and it political power. If conservatives were winning elections, securing our borders would be a priority not empty rhetoric, fiscal responsibilty would trump political pork, we would be fighting the war in Iraq with more troops, more firepower and urgency not like we are trying to mitigate what in hindsight might have been military miscalculations, and liberals would be up in arms because we were actually downsizing bloated government not expanding it.

I think it more likely that the United States will break up into three nations. I wouldn't lift a finger to stop it.

What do you think? East Coast USA , West Coast USA and the Heartland?

I'd be happy with that. Of course Texas might split off as well (which would be a mistake if the above happened)

Sort of. Southeast goes with the heartland. Illinois with the Northeast.

Eastern parts of west coast states will be plenty miserable, and the borders will be subject to change.

Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine(?) will be problematical due to over-diversified culture.

Considerable migration from some of these areas.

Consider that Utah just determined that the University of Utah may not prohibit firearms and that teachers are being encouraged to arm.

In Kalifornia, the laws are becoming so strict, its hard for a law-abiding person to even know them, let alone follow them.

After the break-up, no gunowner will want to be in the blue areas. Such gunowners will not be receptive to finding anti-gunners in their new place of residence.

The migrations won't be "forced" but the laws will be changing quickly to protect the values of the majorities.

Liberals don't realize that their collectivist policies have been tried and have failed miserably. It will fail here also but it will be plenty painful for some.

Expect that the world economy will stumble badly for quite some time.

Regardless who wins, a liberal will be elected in November.

This country is so far removed from conservatism that it wouldn't recognize it if it got shot in the face by the vice president.

legislation cannot become law unless passed by both houses of congress and signed by the president.

Well, duh. I get what you're saying.

- just google "schoolhouse rock" and "I'm just a bill" it will explain in great detail how our system works.

I saw that, among others, dozens of times when I was a kid in the mid-late 1970s

I'm just a bill, yes I'm only a bill, and I'm sitting here on Captiol hill....:-)

Conjunction junction, whats your function...

As much as you and so many others would like to have a clear-cut, binary, black or white separation of good and bad as it applies to our elected officials, it just doesn't work that way.

I'm aware of how it works. Are you aware of how liberals work?

What do you mean? My original points are still valid.

Realistically, there is almost no chance of even of of the two branches of congress changing hands....

And

unless you believe that bush will completely cave, none of the democrats' legislation can become law.

Perhaps you do expect a complete bush cave in............. "Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool." Paul Begala on Executive orders.

It would be terrible if the liberals won in november!

The deportations of illegals would stop, liberal judges would give Islamic POWs a right to have lawyers, the war in Iraq would be fought with political corectness and US Soldiers will begin to fear facing murder charges for defending themselves on the battlefield, Christ will be banned from our schools but a prayer room reserved for Muslim High School children, the US would be more passive and let China make many of the global decisions in the world those regarding a nuclear Iran and North Korea...

It would be a nightmare if the democrats win in november!

By 2008, things will be so bad that America will elect a Republican in a landslide!

You're talking about a political party that does not easily concede their power once they have it. Almost "Chavezlike". They will try to change as many laws and rules to benefit them, conservative Talk Radio will be gone from the airwaves and replaced with elevator music and they will probably attempt to go after the Freerepublics of the internet redefining it as "hatespeech"... I mean... did you read what they are planning for those who undermine the Global Warming Theory?

So long as the same good people who went out to vote the past few election cycles get out there again and vote, the libs don't have a chance. Our worst enemy is not the libs but the conservatives who would rather sit at home because "Candidate X" isn't 100% perfect.

HOWEVER, the Dims will play dog in the manger. A Democratic house and/or Senate will do what they can to accomplish all of these goals ;no conservative proposals will see the light of day. Furthermore, any foreign policy goals of the President will be stringently opposed. Their aim is to being our nation into alignment with the Europeans in Brussels on all matters, domestic and foreign.
