AP: Air America Radio Files Chapter 11 Friday October 13, 10:37 am ET Liberal Talk Radio Network Air America Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

NEW YORK (AP) -- Air America Radio, a liberal talk and news radio network, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told the AP. The network had denied rumors just a month ago that it would file for bankruptcy, but on Friday Air America said negotiations with a creditor from the company's early days had broken down.

The network will stay on the air while it resolves issues with its creditors, spokeswoman Jaime Horn told the Associated Press. A formal announcement was expected to be made later Friday.

And since when does a corporation have "wages"? Why isn't it an unsecured, nonpriority creditor like everyone else?

Wonder if, from the 2006 Google image, the lack of funds resulted in construction delays:)

I don't feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to give AA credit in the first place. Chapter 11 means 5¢ on the dollar, if anything.

Had a company that owed me $1200 go chapter 11. I got a check for $12......only......3 years later.

Chapter 11 [legally] allows the principals of the company to gut the assets, right in front of the creditors, before filing Chapter 7. Then there is nothing to liquidate.

This is how liberals are spinning this one positive:

"Air American is filing chapter 11 because they aren't making money. They aren't making money because no one listens to them. No one listens to them because liberals don't need to. They know how to think for themselves. They're not programed to tune in at a certain time each day or night in order to be told how to think on whatever subject Carl Rove has instructed Limbaugh and the gang to talk about. Sheep show up at the same feeding station each day to be fed by those who control them. Intelligent human beings know how to feed themselves."

"They protect terrorists, they scramble to champion the cause of the enemy, and they readily condemn those actions of their own country that would keep us safe. That, I believe, is why Air America failed and hope that all of their efforts will fail. But then there is no logic to their rantings and no consistency to their position!"

You are completely correct of course. They are symptoms of their idealism, their religion.

At any given time, the left's leadership is applying one or more of these commandments for any given situation. I've highlighted those in play here. Feel free to add your own emphasis.

The Left's Eight Commandments

I
Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II
Thou shall not allow any member to question the group's inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III
Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV
Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V
Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI
Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII
Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group's stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

VIII
Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions

(adapted from Janis '82)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com good question... it's quite telling on his part that he's NOT funding it. he is conspicuous by his absence.

he's thrown away more money than erroramerica consumes before, so... he must want to distance himself from these chickenheads for some reason, no???

I've seen it done.

I had a customer over on the west coast (of Florida) that had about 15 stores I serviced. One was incorporated by itself, the other 14 together. Well, the group of 14 went chapter 11. Not only did he not have to pay me, but I was not allowed to reposess my merchandise. I watched him move merchandise from those stores to the one that was not chapter 11. I called the court bankruptcy trustee on it. He said it is illegal, happens all the time, and the judges don't care. He had seen it done and reported it to a judge and the judge ignored him.

In Kissimmee I saw cases of store owners moving everything out of a store at night, take it 5 miles down the road and stock a new shop under a different corporate name. Close the old store and dissolve that corporation. Bingo, the new store is fully stocked with free merchandise.

In Florida, at least at that time, it was perfectly legal dissolve a corporation and walk away from the debt. That's why the big vendors of licensed stuff got personal guarantees from the store owners. The rest of us just took our chances. That's why, about 12 years ago, I just sold off my stock and walked away from that business. Florida is [corporate] deadbeat heaven.
