The Herndon Town Council has approved measures to block contractors working for the town from hiring illegal aliens and to bar illegal aliens from obtaining business licenses. "What we're really doing here is we're changing the perception ... that Herndon was very open to illegal aliens," Town Council member Dennis Husch said Tuesday. "This town council is attempting to change that perception." As a result, Town Manager Stephen F. Owen will add language to contracts that will prohibit contractors from hiring illegals and requires business-license applicants to sign a notarized statement saying they are eligible to work legally in the United States.

The good folk of Herndon are an example for us all. The people who threw out the old mayor and most of the city council were just plain old citizens who got fed up when they tried to open a day laborer center. They were amateurs, had no deep pockets, had no media support, and learned as they went. But they fought the government & they won! The illegals are moving out of Herndon because they know they're not welcome.

The citizens of Herndon are doing something positive about illegal aliens in their community, not just whining. We should all be as active and patriotic as they are.

Illegals will gravitate toward communities that give them sanctuary.

When Dalton, Georgia, built its new police department, two illegal invaders were found on the construction crew. I guess that's only fair, being illegals are the reason we needed the larger building.
