AP Exclusive: Reid got $1M in land sale

WASHINGTON - Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show.

In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

The Nevada Democrat's deal was engineered by Jay Brown, a longtime friend and former casino lawyer whose name surfaced in a major political bribery trial this summer and in other prior organized crime investigations. He's never been charged with wrongdoing — except for a 1981 federal securities complaint that was settled out of court.

Yup. He got blind sided by them. Now he and his lawyers are trying to figure out what to say.

Wonder if this story will get 0.0005% of the coverage of the Foley story... Who am I kidding. This story begins and end here with the MSM.

Reid's racketeering of water rights and open space to manipulate the value of his holdings is legendary.

Reid is a big-time crook.

Not when there is a chance of losing Congress to these thugs. I do not think so. Payback time.

Is it too early to DEMAND Reid's resignation? Can we at least call on a sepcial committee to investigate Reid?

No. He's a RAT.

The MSM will all sing in chorus "congressional leaders question the timing of these unsubstantiated claims", "another mean-spirited attack by the right", "and just when you thought the GOP mudslinging couldn't get any worse", you name it. The whole emphasis will be on those mean old Republicans, not the substance of the charges. The MSM are so friggin' predictable.

This is the same type of manipulation that got Randy Duke Cunningham on the radar and sent to prison. I repeat, Reid is in big trouble!

Sorry to break it to you, bud, but Reid is a Democrat and is thus exempt from the law. He will not get questioned, let alone prosecuted, and no TV reporter will bring this up. No Republican talking head will mention it on any TV show for fear of being called "partisan."

Right now, the GOP Senators and the White House are launching an investigation to immediately fire anyone who might have ever even thought of talking to reporter about this. How dare the staff breach Senate traditions!

Orrin Hatch probably has a personnel list in his hot little hands right now trying to figure out which staffer he can fire and make himself look good in the process.

If Reid has to resign, Nevada's got a GOP governor, right?

I hope FoxNews or someone will give these two a job after the Democrats fire them for this story...
