The Communist Manifesto can't take a bullet. How about the Koran? Or Immanuel Kant?

"About six years ago, I had a full sized Kimber .45acp that I never should have given up. Nonetheless, I'm back. After some apologies, the gun forgave me for abandoning the brand, and agreed to spend a day at the range.

Aside from my normal paper targets, I dropped by the local Barnes and Noble to pick up some things for penetration tests.

I've never felt so self-conscious leaving a bookstore. Not even when I purchased anatomy and "photography" books from the art section as reference for my cartoons. I'm pretty good at not getting pulled over on the highway. I haven't had a traffic citation in nine years. The last thing I need is to be pulled over and found with a bag containing: 1 firearm, 150 rounds of ammunition, the Critique of Pure Reason, the Communist Manifesto, and the Koran."

Head on over for pictures, and be sure to leave a comment if you want to let J- know you want more. :)

BEAUTIFUL! Too bad you couldn't get a Holey volunteer to hold it in front of his head.

Hmm... high and left. Looks like you're anticipating the .45's recoil and pushing the pistol up.

As you admitted, you need more range time with that handgun. Sooo... just print off copies of the front cover of that noxious book for practice purposes. No need to continue the penetration tests.

I smell a new FReeper postal match in the making...

"I think Allah (most holy and merciful) may exist. When I took a shower after cleaning the Kimber, I accidentally got soap in my eye and it stung like hell."

Just and merciful god indeed! If there is an Allah, how could he/she/it allow such horror?!

p.s. Work on your groups.. I am a terrible shot, but even my shooting is more impressive than that! Why.. I can shoot 1 minute of angle at 1,000 yards! With steele sights! With an SKS!!

You did make a wise choice going with .45 acp.. too bad you didn't buy a Colt though.. that's a MAN's gun!! LOL

No rational being would shoot at Kant--it might bounce back!

I'd like to see anyone do that at 100yds with a non-customized handgun. The link plainly stated the range was 25 yds.

Not bad at 100 yds. with a handgun.

Years ago, I could easily bounce an empty half-pint milk carton at 100 yards with my dad's Colt Woodsman. I got a *lot* more practice back then, though... but I might still get a few lucky hits at that range.

These books were shot at 25 yards.

"All books were shot with .45acp FMJ 230 grain ball ammunition at 25 yards."

Like I said... Grouping sucks.

I'm not the shooter - I'm linking to the original and you'd have to leave comments there for the author to see them.

J- just picked up the new gun and this is his first time out with it, so it's expected that he wouldn't be a pro sniper with it yet.

Sorry.. I should have noticed that you were not the shooter. It is a funny concept/webpage though. Thanks for posting it. I once made a web-page of shooting my thermos when it started leaking on me.. but shooting leftist literature is a much better idea!!

Kant's Kritik der reinen Vernunft has taken plenty of shots over the years. After all, is Euclidean geometry really the form of our sensible intuition? I don't think so! And the transcendental unity of the synthesis of imagination? Fuhgeddaboudit!

Here is that thermos I was telling you about..

Sad Thermos, Mad Thermos owner

Moral of the story: Guns.. good; leaking thermos.. bad!
