Dear Friend,
Watch Jim Webb's new ad, "Truth"
Yesterday, I told you that we were going to continue to fight back against George Allen and his lies. Today, we've launched a new ad that will do just that.
Titled "Truth," the new ad contrasts George Allen's lies about Jim Webb's plan to cut taxes with Allen's lengthy record of voting for special interests over middle class families -- a record that includes numerous increases to the cost of living for regular hard working Virginians.

George Allen can't run on his voting record, because he simply rubber stamps George W. Bush's failed policies. This was on full display at last evening's debate, where George Allen consistently refused to directly answer questions. When asked by a panelist about Senator John Warner's concerns about Iraq, Allen refused to answer the question. And when asked by Jim Webb about the dangerous international situation in the Senkaku Islands -- territory claimed by both the Chinese and Japanese -- Allen did not know of the islands, even though he is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and there was a major international incident near the islands during his term in the Senate.
The debate also offered George Allen the perfect opportunity to talk to Virginians about why he didn't disclose his personal investment in a company that he allegedly steered money and contracts to as Governor and Senator of Virginia. Senator Allen never brought it up. Our campaign has asked Senate leaders to conduct a full investigation of Senator Allen's dealings, and if he truly has nothing to hide, George Allen should do the same.
Instead, at the end of the debate, Allen dodged reporters and exited immediately after the debate ended, leaving his consultants to explain the Senator's lackluster performance to reporters. Contrast that to Jim, who stayed around talking to reporters and the audience.
Virginians deserve a leader who is accountable, not someone who ducks the truth and spreads lies. It's time for George Allen to go.

The truth is, Jim Webb is fighting to give tax cuts to middle class families and veterans. He'll bring needed leadership to Washington on issues of foreign policy and national security, leadership that we clearly need now more than ever. And he'll provide a voice to the clear majority of Virginians who are unhappy with the current direction of our country.
The choice could not be clearer, and the debate only highlighted this. That's why George Allen is resorting to such desperate tactics. But we're hitting back with our new ad, and with your help we'll continue to fight through the distortions and present Virginia voters with a clear and honest choice this November.

Thank you again for your dedication and support.
Sincerely,

Shut up and write songs!
"I'll never have that recipe again!"
All Webb wants to do is raise taxes.Just ask him.
Yup, and good ol' Jim will do it with the full backing of his party.
The Senkuku question was hilarious. And this e-mail "a major incident 'near' the islands", is hilarious. NOTHING has happened at the senkuku islands of note since WW2.
Turns out there are two other islands (actually a different name for senkuku, and a different island) that Webb wrote about in 1999, attacking Clinton for not dealing with the imminent threat these islands posed.
In 2004, Japan and China exchanged ----- diplomatic e-mails over the islands.
I think the only MAJOR thing that happened at these islands happened in a TOM CLANCY NOVEL.
Does he really believe that the rest of the Senate will line up and bow to "James Webb", the leader extraordinaire?
Webb has expressed an acute Chinophobia for an incredibly long time.

"...Of those who watched the debate, 48% said Republican incumbent George Allen won, while 38% gave the victory to Jim Webb, the Democrat."
What a loser.
