I wrote a letter to the author, Mr. Caruba, requesting permission to reprint this on Free Republic for purposes of discussion. He granted permission quickly and generously.
Many will be turned off once they reach the criticisms of the President's education initiative "No Child Left Behind", but many will agree with that program's faults. I've read both sides of the arguments in other threads discussing other articles: this one series seemed well-suited for purposes of discussion and debate on our forum. I hope you all agree.
