The impact will cause devastating tsunamis, earthquakes and avalanches, says Fedorovsky. He saw the killer comet in a telescope two weeks ago. He managed to calculate the comets trajectory. We got in touch with Nikolai Fedorovsky:
Im not trying to scare anybody, I just want to warn the public, sums up Fedorovsky. We should pay attention to this suspicious celestial body. We could obtain more accurate calculations if other astronomers join forces. We could also photograph it if were in luck. We will probably partake in one of the greatest events in the history of humankind,

What's 'top speed' for a 'giant comet', anyway? It is well known that space balls travel at ludicrous speed!

And what does he suggest we do ?
To: tlb
If it's a giant comet and it is close enough to hit us in the next couple of weeks, one would think we'd be able to see it by now.

As usual, Babelfish translations remind us of how very complex language is and how difficult it is for software to grasp it coherently :-) It falls satisfactorily. ;-)

It has been debated among experts if the public should be notified a catasrophic event such as a comet hitting us would do any good? Most seem to think a warning to the public is not the best thing, believe it or not.
Aside from mass panic being created, what could we do?
The only solid reason for letting us know would be that we would have time to make things right with our maker..
