Nuclear is a typo. It's unclear, like so many things in NK.
To: digger48
Would this mean Bush's policy on NK wasn't a "shocking failure" as Kerry etal claimed today?
To: blogblogginaway
U.S. officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that seismic readings show that the conventional high explosives used to create a chain reaction in a plutonium-based device went off, but that the blast's readings were shy of a typical nuclear detonation.
This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever - if simply the high explosive trigger goes off, you do NOT get an M 4 range earthquake.
I have very limited confidence in Gertz's sources or competence.

Kim Jong Il is just ronery and sad that his missile didn't work, so he wanted to light off a nuclear bomb. Now it looks like his bomb didn't work either and he's still so ronery.

Me too, the guy was never right about any of his analysis, he is as bad and the liberal pundits, wrong all the time. However let us wait and see.

This could indicate no "shocking failure" of Bush's policy, but instead a deep quagmire inside Kerry's brain cells.

I wonder if this gave them the idea of using explosives to appear like a Nuclear test.
