It is still sad. Rebuilding will help. I brokeup with someone a couple of years ago I got rid of everything and redecorated. It helped me focus on the future rather than the past. I hope they can do this and still remember the light that their precious daughters were to the world.
The controlled burn idea seems the best, to me. No way that any of the materials of the school should be used anywhere else.
Fire can be cleansing in situations like this. Bless them all.
I'm a grown man and just thinking about those poor girls makes me want to cry.
Sad, just sad.
They are wiser than our own...
Continued heartfelt prayer for the Amish community.
Same here.I am at a complete loss of words over that horrible event. My wife finds it strange that I do not talk about it.My thoughts are opposite of what the Honorable Amish people have shown. They are a people to be admired, and respected.God will most certainly bless those people,if what I have read in the Bible is correct.
Much wisdom in this decision. After the Murrah Building was blown up, they did tear it down and cart away the debris--then they built another building with windows that looked down on the site! Some workers simply could not work in that new building, and I don't blame them. The Amish have the right idea here.
I agree.
Excellent idea.
I'm a 59+ year old man (nearly grown man) and cry at the thought of this horrible event also.
Those sweet little girls ............
God bless the Amish .........., and bless you for your good heart.
Kindness to you.........from here in Pennsylvania.
Thank you for continuing to keep folks informed about what is going on.
The Amish are a good people, the rest of us could learn much from them.
Yes indeed you are so very right, there is so much to learn from these extraordinary people.
However, I feel most Americans are too ignorant and disinterested to understand the Amish message.
I think it is more the disinterest that leads to the ingnorance. I had a fair bit of knowlege of the Amish from 20+ years of living in central Delaware.....but I have sure learned a lot this past week.
They need to move the school....
Thanks for your post.
One can only imagine what those poor boys will go through for the rest of this school year, remembering what happened to their sisters.
I suspected this would be their action from the first.
The evil that was done that day is permeated in the building and will only be purged by destruction - burning being the best..
an unlike with our society, putting up a new school can be done in a day - with volunteer, communal labor and materials.
In our society, even a one room school would cost hundreds of thousands....
The little one room school I attended for my first 6 years built with mostly volunteer labor - etc, back 100+ years ago... fell into 'wreck and ruin' after school consolidation rendered it obsolete. Windows gone, open to harsh northern weather year round, used to store hay - belfry rotting, bell long sold...it was a sad sight - until a few years ago, when the tiny Plantation Area folk, once again, got together and restored it. Now it stands proud and sparking, with the addition of a War Memorial in front.
