[history]
THE Dixie Chicks' biggest detractor, FreeRepublic.com founder Jim Robinson, declined to appear in their documentary, "Shut Up and Sing."
[ Snip]
Robinson's rep, Kristinn Taylor, confirmed he ducked the interview: "He told me to go ahead and do it."

The funny thing is that this publicity will benefit FR much more than it will mollify the fan base the Dixie Chicks may wish to woo back.

I wonder why they don't want to take us all on..I would love to invite them here where the air is clear...but I guess that they would not be able to spin lies since everything here is posted and can't be changed to fit their lies....Such a bunch of idiots..

A mass mailing of 30,000?? Where have these people been? There's no need to mail anything, the discussions here on FR obviate the need for snail mail.

If the Chicks and their heavy weight goons can read, they already know how we feel.
But that's not what they're after - they want an image to manipulate, an image to distort. - not words to clairy.
It's not "censorship" when the little people think a product stinks.
What's next? Will Hollywood goons think it's censorship if we don't buy David Duke's book?
Puffed up Hollywood narcissists need to get real.

I'm glad Jim did not inflate their egos by giving them his time.

Seinfeld experts: Who was the guy who grew up with George and ended up in a mental ward after working with Mayor Dinkins and being a spectacular failure? Lloyd something? Mr. Sunshine must be him.

Even if Jim had an actual debate with these nuts all they would do is cut and paste and take everything out of context. Jim's ideas already won the day! You're called it. Hollywood's creeps are dishonest and they would act within that framework.

Thanks, Jim. When the issue of "mass mailing to 30K Freepers" first appeared, many of us feigned anger over not getting our email! What a load of BS...
As many Freepers have said on this thread, there are likely two reasons for Sunshine to ramp this up now: 1) It wasn't the Chicks' fault, it was the mean ol' Right Wing Conspiracy headed up this time by one of their field generals, Jim Robinson at FR; and 2) a way to get their names in the paper again.
We on FR who have been following this story know the truth, which the MSM care not a wit about; if they are interested, they could search FR and see the whole thing unfold.

I like the NY Post, but confirming that Jim let Kristinn handle the matter, is hardly the same thing as confirming that Jim "ducked" the interview. You say one thing, they put a whole other spin on it.

"Sunshine started a public relations firm where he represented Barbra Streisand"
Well, Sunshine, I guess it was your idea for Babs to start a blog, riddled with quasi-literate statements by the "diva" herself, making fine suggestions about how proles can save the environment ... using clotheslines and such. Thank you for that. It's absolutely hilarious.
To: Pharmboy; Jim Robinson
Whatzisname's psychotic reaction to JimRob's declining to appear more than justifies Jim's decision.
Obviously, this flim-flam artist had a hidden agenda.
The wild-eyed liberal was lying in wait, preparing to sacrifice FReepublic and JimRob----in order to pump up the Dixie Zits sagging career.
Bravo, Jim---nice work.
Nice to see a liberal conman go ballistic at the hands of a practiced conservative.
