That is the problem we have in society. Nobody polices anybody. Everybody has a right to do whatever.
DAVID THOMAS, Father, Norfolk, Va.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Oct. 7 As word of Representative Mark Foleys sexually explicit e-mail messages to former pages spread last week, Republican strategists worried and Democrats hoped that the sordid nature of the scandal would discourage conservative Christians from going to the polls.
But in dozens of interviews here in southeastern Virginia, a conservative Christian stronghold that is a battleground in races for the House and Senate, many said the episode only reinforced their reasons to vote for their two Republican incumbents in neck-and-neck re-election fights, Representative Thelma Drake and Senator George Allen.
This is Foleys lifestyle, said Ron Gwaltney, a home builder, as he waited with his family outside a Christian rock concert last Thursday in Norfolk. He tried to keep it quiet from his family and his voters. He is responsible for what he did. He is paying a price for what he did. I am not sure how much farther it needs to go.
The Democratic Party is the party that is tolerant of, maybe more so than Republicans, that lifestyle, Mr. Gwaltney said, referring to homosexuality.
Most of the evangelical Christians interviewed said that so far they saw Mr. Foleys behavior as a matter of personal morality, not institutional dysfunction.
All said the question of broader responsibility had quickly devolved into a storm of partisan charges and countercharges. And all insisted the episode would have little impact on their intentions to vote.

Well, then, the LSM has obviously not said/printed/broadcast enough times that the emails were sexually explicit. You still don't believe the lie. LOL and good for you!
I don't think the DBM has any clue how much anger this has generated towards them.
Uh, yeah. Unlike Dems, we don't blame everyone else for our own personal failings and challenges. This is why the Republican party is an excellent choice for groups of people who have historically seen themselves or are called 'victims' in society. Dems reinforce this thinking; Republicans say BS you can be more if you try.
What's DBM?
LOL. I never thought of rain as a weather hazard preventing folks from driving to the polls.

Evangelicals blame the New York Times and nobody else.
I think I am suffering from Foley phatique.
I'm stunned this story got by the editors.
What really makes me angry is that they have been trying to force the gay agenda on this country for years. Now they xpect us to get outraged over this Foley thing. They pushed the gay agenda so well that all it gets is a yawn. I think only the left and the MSM are upset over this. Hypocrites!
David Kirkpatrick is the conservative beat writer for the New York Times. Yes, they have a conservative beat - we're kind of like a foreign country to that paper and most of its readers.
And here I thought it was Dain Bramaged Media.
Ah I missed who the author was. That explains it. I wonder if any of the folks at the paper will even bother to read it.
See 32...
Well that works also.
Well who are we to tell them to put their lives in danger?
LOL!!!!
To quote the coiner of the phrase:
Folks, they are the DRIVE BY MEDIA-- "The mainstream media
are drive-by shooters. This is exactly what they are. They pull up to a congested area; they spray a hail of bullets into the crowd, causes mass hysteria, mass confusion, mistakes and misinterpretation. Sometimes people or their careers actually die. The mainstream media then smirks and pats itself on the back, says, "Look what we can do," and they ride away unnoticed in the excitement. They are never blamed; they are never held accountable. In fact, they are lauded, they are held up as heroes, mostly by themselves. But they are. They just troll around looking for any issue they can to get everybody all worked up, creating hysteria. It is like a drive-by shooter. It's like road rage every day. That's what the mainstream press has become."

Where are the 26 major Hurricanes?
A handcuffed Rove being dragged out of the White House?
10,000 body bags in the first month from Iraq?
The list is endless.
