Nope. Just going to send them a really nasty letter.

I find this whole thing irritating. WTF do they think the UN is going to do? Sanctions?

Big whoop.

Shutting off cable tv, heat and phone access to someone who doesn't have it anyway is not going to change their quality of life.

To all the libs and Madeline Halfbrights of the world...THIS is EXACTLY what dialogue gets you for your money. And dialog with Iran will not produce anything different.

Sheesh.

Bildt called on the United Nations Security Council to discuss what measures could be taken following the test.

Why doesn't he just have his military go over there and do something instead of having the UN in charge or of course as always America will have to do something. If Sweden can call on action why doesn't he do something. I am sick of these European countries yelling and screaming but doing absolutely NOTHING! Absolutely worthless.

"Sweaden, shut the hell up sissy boys,
too little too late.

Let's wait and do nothing until the geenie is out of the bottle."

I agree Sweden has done too little in the WOT area, but it's ALSO true that the US has rushed the whole thing. A lot of people here would probably disagree, but I think more countries, even France and Germany, would have joined the alliance if Blix and the UN would have been given more time.

People like Bush and Blair have admitted their mistakes, but as far as I'm concerned, they've got nothing to be ashamed of. Saddam Hussein was a tyrant and a major threat to peace in the Middle East any way you look at it.
Quite contrary, a lot of other countries are doing very little to aid the US and the UK, which I think is a disgrace.

Saddam Hussein should've been got rid off in a joint US-EU-UN-NATO operation and that's the way we ought to fight the talibans and North Korea as well.

What's that saying?

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of Cure."

This comes late. Expect a repeat in regards to Iran.

To be fair, Bildt's attitude is a welcome relief, but his election does not put an end to nihilism. Sadly, Sweden will most likely continue in its complacent and amoral tradition.

Time had nothing to do with it. Both France and Germany were dealing with Saddam and getting oil in return. They valued that oil more then they valued Global Security.

Looks like very few countries have been dealing with North Korea (except perhaps Iran and Venezuela). No one will stop the US from doing whatever it wants now with regards to North Korea. Looks like a Cuban Missile Crisis Blockade will be the first move according to an 'expert' on Art Bell last night.

You are very correct but too many like france and germany think only of making a buck and screwing the U.S.
When Iran manages to stop the flow of mid-east oil to europe and the russians help and the folks there freeze in some future winter I'll sit back and laugh at their stupidity.
Now let's get rid of the fool in Venezuela.

I'm also afraid Iran will be a repeat of what happened in the case of Iraq.

But WHY?

One, big, part of the problem is this;

Prestige.

If the US would "wait" with undertaking any military action against Iran until the EU says the time is ripe, it will look as the US is being "obedient" visavi the Europeans. Therefore, the US is bound to rush it again and in that way we westeners run the risk of actually doing more harm to the Western World itself than to islamofascism.

People like Bush, Blix and Bildt might disagree over several issues, but they all understand the importance of these two things;

- Defending Western Civilization

- Creating unity in the Western World

Personally speaking, Any enlightened person who shares these goals with me, I consider an ally.

Have the Swedes blamed the Jews yet?

They are planning on doing it at their next news conference, as soon as they assemble the furniture to set the microphone on....

The main problem now is how can we do anything against Iran if North Korea becomes priority number one ? Looks like a draft is coming.

Wrong administration. A right-of-center government just won in Sweden.
Of course, I am sure that the jihadists in Malmostan will find some way to blame Israel.

The Swedes can shuffle the deck all they like, but they could never purge the Jew/Israeli hatred from their puny minds.

So a crazy government gets nukes, says F-You to the world, and all they want is a debate in the UN?

Listen closely to your congressmen and President today. The usual circle-jerk at the Useless Nations is all that even the US is calling for. NK will pop the next one off in a populated area. Then the UN will go into serious talks. So what?

Without the troops massed on Iraq's border, Blix & company weren't getting access. Leaving those troops (targets) sitting on the border at length meant desert conditions working to degrade the military capabilities of those troops. Meanwhile, the push against maintaining the sanctions against Hussein were getting louder. Deals had been cut with Hussein & France was telling him to sit tight, they'd do what needed to be done to defang the US. US troops were in harms way, while those without troops in harms way still feel they have a right to kibitz. You're playing the dummy hand, because your clubs were the low bid.

Agree with you. The Swedes build good equipment. Troops might be questionable, but run 'em through the fire and the survivors will be good enough.
