Although this will be preaching to the choir, we all know that the left is foresquare AGAINST free speech. They only support speech that supports their ideas, and they will fight tooth and nail to keep opposing ideas from ever getting out. It's part of the nature of the left. We've seen this over and over again. The whole concept of "political correctness" is anethema to the concept of free speech and open dialog, but it's a bastion of the left.
This is nothing new. Back in the 1980's at my college, SUNY @ Stony Brook, there were "hate speech" rules that pretty much said if you looked at another person the wrong way, it could get you a reprimand, or kicked off of campus. In my dorm, there was a room of 4 guys who were kicked off campus because a gay guy said that he heard loud laughter coming out of their room. He said that they were laughing about gay jokes, but he had to admit that he didn't actually hear the jokes he claimed they were telling. Still, he insisted, and the homosexual lobby at the school pressed it, and they were kicked off campus housing.
Interestingly enough, while the dorms were co-ed, the rooms were not. Rooms were either all male, or all female. However, homosexual lovers were allowed to live toghether, while heterosexual lovers were not, at least, not in campus housing...

If Professor Wichman has some evidence of students at MSU buying, selling, or otherwise exchanging slaves, I would be very interested in seeing it.
If you do not like the values of the West -- see the 1st Amendment -- you are free to leave. I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option.
Perhaps Professor Wichman should see the 1st Amendment himself. Protests, no matter how "infantile" he may find them, are "the values of the West", personally, I think his whiny conflation of Muslim terrorists and Muslim MSU students is an "infantile" premise for his letter.
Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.
I would wage that despite Professor Wichman's protests, most of these students are Americans, even if many of they are the sons and daughters of immigrants (like I suspect he is) and not sons and daughters of Mayflower families.
If we were to truly test peoples' commitment to free speech here, we could note the irony of a white guy telling other people to "return to [their] ancestral homelands [...] instead of troubling Americans" -- on Columbus Day.
Maybe he should go to the "diversity" training AS LONG AS THE MUSLIMS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALSO! And make sure it specifically mentions how Christians should not be discriminated against as I know it will already speak of how much muslims have contributed. What a sack of crap! CAIR is an extremist organization that should be hounded by the feds day and night. CAIR is worse than Nazi Skinheads. At least skinheads don't LIE about their violent tendencies.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests."
