YEP. Now with NK just testing their nuke, they will try harder to push this issue back out front. HOPEfully, the media will realize the nuke issue is now #1 story. It is NEWS. I would take this story with a grain of salt- interesting the drip drip drip of stories, with little way to confirm them.

Pages could spend the night elsewhere, he said, as long as their parents approved and the adult whose house they were sleeping at signed them out.

One of Fortune's friends had dinner and spent the night at a congresswoman's house. He said this wasn't uncommon.

From The Post article:

In interviews with The Post last week, multiple pages identified Kolbe as a close friend and personal confidante who was one of the only members of Congress to take any interest in them. A former page himself, Kolbe offered to mentor pages and kept in touch with some of them after they left the program, according to the interviews.

Kolbe once invited four former pages to make use of his Washington home while he was out of town, according to an instant message between Foley and another former page, Jordan Edmund, in January 2002. The pages planned to attend a first-year reunion of their page class. But because of a snowstorm, they did not take Kolbe up on his offer, according to one of the four pages.

Cline said one of the youths invited was a former page of Kolbe's. Because the congressman frequently travels on weekends, either to his Arizona ranch or abroad, the house is often available to friends, constituents, staffers and former staff members, such as a former page, she said.

Kolbe, the only openly gay Republican in Congress, is retiring at the end of the year.

I wondered why the Kolbe article (mentioned his friendship with pages) wasn't a news story, then remembered he is RETIRING. It would be a waste of energy for the Dems. FROM my link above: Leider, who never heard rumors about former Rep. Mark Foley, said it's normal for congressmen to send e-mails to former pages. Leider said he and his brother Robert, 25, who was a page in 1999, keep a running friendship with Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz.

He was probably friends/lovers with Fordham.
Fordham is Reynolds advisor.
Reynolds is NRCC.

NRCC denies funding to Randy Graf.
Kolbe denies endorsement to Randy Graf to this day.

Talk about spiteful queers.

Reading your post (and assuming it is accurate), is it unfair to speculate that Kolbe decided to retire because he knew something was about to boil over? This is a mess.

He certainly has shown nothing but vitriol toward Randy Graf for the past several years. Graf ain't into the "gay" thing.

Then this should be made clear, that the gay activists are going after Republican Party because of its opposition to gay marriage and thus the Foley crap .

Kolbe announced he was retiring November of last year.

I thought it was because he was HIV positive or sick.

Then in August this year we find out his current "partner" was an illegal alien from Panama.

He has been less than honorable with his intentions representing Arizona CD8, to the point his own brother Walter, who is a border rancher, is against him.

He wants gay marriage and gays in the military.

Now he refuses to support the Republican who was elected in this primary- Randy Graf, in his own district.

He has written in riders in DHS appropriations bills hamstringing the USBP from setting up roadblocks on major North South roads in Southern Arizona.

He (Kolbe)takes money from Soros.

This is probably a truthful outing by someone affiliated with the Democrats. A day late and a dollar short.
He's out anyway.

Meanwhile the Democrats are hilariously funding and have funded about a million dollars worth of ads here in Southern Arizona pointing out how Kolbe will not endorse Graf who was elected in the primary as his replacement. This is the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot.

Kolbe must have known about his baggage and thought it was under control.

This information might have been useful to someone campaigning against him in 2002 or 2004, it's irrelevant now, other than showing his moral equvalence and amoral attitude.

By the way, what's the statute of limitations on sex crimes?

7 years? It's been 6 and 3/4 years since this happened and he is retiring.

A Washington tempest in a teapot.

Okay, this stinks, but this is just really over kill and you have to know this. My Gosh, no one cared this much when Barney Frank had a prostitution ring in his home. This is politically driven publicity, and there are many more important issues now, like N. Korea. Foley is gone, and the democrats are hypocrites as usual.

We need a change in Republican leadership!

And the Democrats didn't know a thing. Get a life.
