"American had to suffer with Carter before it was ready to vote for Reagan. Perhaps history is repeating itself."

I don't think we have the margin for error that we did with Jimmah. I think that if the Dems get back in the power the kind of suffering the American people will get will be that which will shock our population as never before and the US might not get back on its feet for a long time.

When reformers such as Representative Mike Pence and Senator Tom Coburn are shunted aside then a housecleaning is in order.

As an Okie I can tell you the republican party establishment loathed Coburn and did not support him. He won election on his own with grass root conservative support.

I greatly admire Coburn and donated $'s until it hurt. That cess pool we know as the Senate has at least one honest convervative.

Riiiight. The Democrats will stop the flood of immigration across the border. Riiiiight. Now he's some magic sand I've got to sell you.

Agree, but seem the Pubs have pulled the wool over our eyes again with the latest info I have read about the "border wall" they voted for in the last minutes of the last session.

This provision in Bush's hands allows him to do next to nothing on the border wall. Lawyer talk makes me mad enough to spit.

Illegals : Last-minute bill changes funding for border fence into virtual fence instead

Luntz is working for the democrats to supress GOP turnout.

Don't fall for it.

Are you afraid that he is not a "true conservative"?

We have been told over and over again on this site how "conservative" Bush is.
Now the same people who have told us how conservative he is, are now afraid he may not be that "Conservative" after all.

For those who have repeated over and over again how conservative Bush is, should lose any sleep if the democrats take over. He'll start using that veto pen.
(Although he never used it before).

It only becomes law if he signs it.

I've already learned my lessons:

Lesson #1 - Democrats are Communists; Republicans are Socialists. Neither one represents my interests.

Lesson #2 - The ideal situation from the perspective of a person who wants a smaller government is a divided government.

Lesson #3 - A President whose loyalties lie with Mexico deserves to have the end of his term be one long impeachment fiasco.

If Democrats take over this country, I think I will go join the Taliban.

With the dems in powers, if you are Christian, you will be the equivalent of the Taliban in their eyes.

Bush's veto pen will not do an ounce of good if the Dems cut off funds for WOT.

LUNTZ WORKING FOR DEMOCRATS:

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2006/02/13/reid_invites_luntz_to_speak_to_democrats.html

Reid Invites Luntz to Speak to Democrats

After being uninvited to a House Republican retreat last week, pollster Frank Luntz was invited to attend one by Senate Democrats in April by Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Roll Call reports.

Said one House GOP leadership aide: "That’s why we don’t want Frank Luntz at our retreat. We’re not sure what side he’s on. We’re not sure if he’s on the side of the companies paying him, on the side of the GOP, or on the side of the Democrats."

Meanwhile, the Washington Post provides some background on the 1998 feud between Luntz and newly-elected House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) that led to the controversy.

" And when terrorists strike, it is the U.S., not the terrorists who are to blame."

No sarcasm tag necessary, but an inappropriate comparison tag apparently is.

You apparently think that conservatives are to blame for everything that is happening to the GOP right now, and are even willing to blame terrorism on conservatives.

I'll bet you'd support deporting conservatives, while welcoming illegal immigrants. (see I can play your game, too)

Come on.....be rational.

GOP and many on this forum are downright angry at conservatives. These are the only folks with any backbone in the republican party - and by the way, the only ones that will attract enough votes to get elected consistently, and you are now trying to run them out of town, or at least the GOP.

It's GREAT when mags like Time and Newsweek say "the sky is falling". Their contrarian record, calling tops in the stock market and housing market, is unsullied. I suspect it's going to be the same story this time around. Let them harp. The bigger the story on their front cover, the more energized actual adults will make sure they get out and vote.

"If you never believed the MSM was the tool of the Rat party, you should now."

Yes, and for the idiots who feel it might be a good thing for dems to be back in control of the house to teach the republicans a lesson...what makes you think that the MSM isn't going to work just as hard to keep them there?

Is this guy a pollster or some bitter idiot like Sacarborough, Buchanan and other knee jerk republicans who always forsee unfounded doom and gloom for the Republican Party.

At this point all we know is that Foley is a homosexual and that he sent some perverted e-mails and such to former pages...we don't know if he actually engaged in any sexual activity with any current or former pages or anyone under age.

Foley's out of Congress and good riddance, but what of the other homosexuals in Congress? How many of them have been coming on to pages? And what about homosexuals on Congressional staffs (including those working for Congressmen who are straight)? If we want Washington to be safe for pages, no male homosexuals should be allowed to serve in Congress or on Congressional staffs.

Of course no one can propose that--and female pages would still be targets--but I have a hard time believing that the Democrats who are making all the noise really care about the pages.

I disagree with your analysis - the history shows that when the GOP loses, its members shift to the right, where they know the voters are, and that when they win, they shift to the left to try and please the media. If your theory was correct, the '94 Gingrich Revolution would have had the most left-wing GOP in memory, and that today's GOP would be the most right-wing. As we can see, the reality is just the opposite.

I have decided, as of today, that I will sit out this election. Two years on the bench will be a healthy tonic all around.

They are the ones who stepped up to the plate to stop the Harriet Miers debacle, the Dubia Ports Debacle and have been trying for years to stop the open borders and out of control spending debacle.
