Bill O'Reilly & Ann Coulter like Romney (Limbaugh, Medved, Hewitt, Kondracke, Beck . . .)
NewsBusters ^ | 10/4/06 | Bill O'Reilly & Ann Coulter

Posted on 10/08/2006 11:48:30 AM PDT by Jeff Fuller

O'REILLY: Is there anything that could make you vote Democrat? Is there any scenario that you could envision you supporting the Democrat candidate for president?

COULTER: If Zell Miller were running against John McCain.

O'REILLY: You're not a big McCain fan, are you?

COULTER: No. Actually, I don't really like any of our front-runners.

O'REILLY: Really?

COULTER: I think it's going to be somebody else.

O'REILLY: I think it's going to be Mitt Romney.

COULTER: Actually, of the ones they talk about ... he's my favorite. It's somebody out of the blue.

O'REILLY: I think Mitt Romney is the guy on the inside track that very few people know about.

Never happen, I'll get flamed for this, but there'll never be a POTUS name Huckabee-Huckleberry, never.

Do you think they will ever vote for an OBAMA?????

How about Allen/J C Watts ?

I like JC but he would make a better VP, then in 8 years he can take the office.

I lean to Allen for 08, J C Watts would make a fine VP and that would be an unstoppable ticket.

Rudy Julie Annie and McCain.... Not only would I never vote for either one of those turds, I will actively work to make sure they never get the nomination.

Romney isn't close to my first choice, but I'm not sure if he is so terrible I would be forced to work against him.

I don't want to argue with anyone but that is my opinion on the matter.

I'm a nobody here, but I'm a very active Republican that can sway lots of votes in Michigan, if you are a Rudy or McCain fan don't take it personally that I will do everything in my power to make sure they never get their campaign off the ground.

Newt will never ever ever be president according to FReepers because.....he was divorced!

Nope (dumbing down so you'll understand)....

Ronald Reagan was divorced. He was heartbroken, and handled it with dignity.

Newt Gingrich is a very smart man politically (like his twin Bill Clinton).

He handles his private life with the same finesse of Clinton. Time-after-time a tawdry episode.

Romney is the best of the lot in my view.

He is not a career politician, but he is good enough at the game to get himself elected here as governor.

The FReepers who are so busy detracting him are clearly driven by an agenda. Mitt has been maligned by both Boston newspapers since even before he took office 4 years ago.

Nevertheless, he has managed to keep taxes unraised, and kept the scum on Be-A-Con Hill in check. This despite what any and all of the naysayers are spewing out all over the place.

I ain't no mormon, I ain't a Republican, I ain't some political operative. I just read a lot, and I pay attention!

I say no to any left wing New England RINOS.

I don't know anything about him, but I do know that he's NOT a RINO if Coulter supports him...

This could change if he were to name a solid conservative (preferably a southern governor) to the second spot on the ticket.

Like Allen? Former VA governor...

JC is a good 2nd-tier Conservative, a VP or House Speaker perhaps, but he's not ready for prime time anything, IMO. I've heard him on Hannity numerous times, and he's a droner-on. No excitement, no real personna, IMO. A snowball's chance in hell.

We need a 1st-tier Conservative, aka Barry Goldwater (not his son), to come from nowhere and stun the Nation with his straight talk, reasoned calls for strict national security, tax cuts, permanent elimination of the 'death tax' crap, morality, morals and mores back into schools and gov't, deportation of muslims-islamists-arabs and criminal, illegal alien mexicans-latinos-hispanics etc, fidelity and honesty back into government, total tort reform, destruction of the homo-sodomite agenda in schools, etc etc etc etc.

I have a 'laundry list', which could go on and on, for hours.

This isn't a 'black man issue', IMO. JC's just not ready for that spotlight position.

The bottom line in this is that people don't want a Bush clone in '08. For some reason this year, Allen has been acting like an ameteur in a campaign that should have been a cakewalk. That doesn't bode well for his chances in a national election.

The Republicans need to get back to the basics-small government, low taxes-that got them elected in the past. Being socially conservative on the issues doesn't mean squat if they've abandoned everything else that conservatism means.

A problem with Romney will be who he surrounds himself with. He apparently has brought into his campaign an aide who was instrumental in "cleaning up" Souter's background so his true leanings wouldn't be detected. Anyone associated with this disastrous appointment shouldn't be in any serious conservative's campaign. I forget the guy's name, though, but I'm sure someone here will supply it.

It'll be Rudy or Romney.

I also think it will be Hillary.

I like both Rudy and Romney and also think these are the only two Repubs who could beat her.

Plus I'm a Bears fan.....so I'm happy.....

A Bears fan? Another reason to support Romney! Romney's relative (? great uncle?) was a quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the 20s named . . . you guessed it . . . Mitt Romney. http://www.q-and-a.org/Transcript/?ProgramID=1066 At the start of the interview it says:
BRIAN LAMB, HOST: Willard Mitt Romney, where did you get those first two names? GOV. MITT ROMNEY (R), MASSACHUSETTS: A little unusual. Willard was after J. Willard Marriott, the founder of the Marriott Hotel chain. He was my dad’s very close friend. They were both boys in Utah, moved back here to Washington, D.C., so I was named Willard after J. Willard Marriott. Mitt is my given middle name, and that’s after a man named Mitt Romney who in the 1920s was a professional football player for the Chicago Bears, quarterback, and the greatest athlete the Romney family has ever known. So I’m really named after two great heroes, one an industrialist and the other a great athlete.
Just an FYI

whoa, I've always thought JC would be an excellent candidate - I wonder if Mitt Romney could draft him.

WOW. what a pair.

Mitt's my man so far.

I don't think Allen can handle the pressure, most candidates can't past the family values test, I'm still a bit leary of Mitt's religion turning off too many core REP voters, but I also think he is the ONLY one that looks like they're running that is electable.

I've always felt like JC thought he could do more outside politics and being the family guy he is - I think he and his wife hated the Washington crap - but VP? Who Knows? I think JC has a great BIO for the job...

Romney is certainly a step up from McCain, Giuliani, Rice and Hagel.

I agree; see my tagline.
