There are two options regarding "The List"....pretend that it won't get published or distributed somehow - or put it up front.

I doesn't bother me one bit if someone's name is on "The List". I bet that the vast majority of FReepers wouldn't be upset to find out that their Rep. or Senator or even Matt Drudge is gay...(is he???? ....I don't think so)....

BUT - The Crux of this issue is that the Democratics think they can hold a sword over the GOP and call the sword "The List"..... Screw that "The List" and I am not going to run away from it nor am I going to vilify those on "The List" - (unless they are involved in Foley types of behaviour).

Put out "The List" and remove the threat....it's going to come out of the closet anyways

I have mixed feelings about posting this, since there are many individuals on here that either don't belong, or because it is truely a private matter.......The Democratics are holding this as a weapon and they are going to wave this weapon in front of us and those on "The List" and that just sucks.....

I really couldn't care less if someone is gay. I just don't want to see it promoted and I don't want to see homosexuals treated any differently than the rest of us.

I see no good service provided by posting a gay "outing" list of republicans here.

I have a gay neighbor who confided in me that he is a closet Republican. I am not joking.

Why are you posting this? It looks like a forgery. If it's a list of all homosexuals in Congress, where's Barney Frank? If it's a list of homosexual Republicans associated with Congress, why is Democrat Barbara Mikulski on it? What's the point of speculating about people's private lives based on no authoritative evidence?

GOPers who are gay and who serve a party that is anti-gay?

Being pro-Constitution, pro public health, and wanting to protect children, does not make one "anti-gay."

This might seem strange to a DUmmie reading this but I don't want to see someone's private weakness exposed to the world. It's when people start publically demanding laws that declare weakness to be strength and wrong to be right, that I get concerned.

Drudge has toyed with the gay rumor for years. I remember when he posted a link to an article stating that he liked young boys to break eggs over him. It wouldn't surprise me if he is gay--he sure seems to be pretty heavily into Hollywood bedroom gossip and fashion--but he has never confirmed any of it that I know of.

As for The List, it's pretty underwhelming. The ones I've heard of, I've heard the rumors. Most of them, I don't know from Adam. If the point is that it's offensive to gay activists for a gay to work for an "anti-gay party," all I need to know from and about these men is that they will support the party platform. Be gay in the open or be gay in the closet, but you better not support things like gay adoption or gay marriage. That's all I care about. If you can't reconcile the two, then get out of Congress and let someone who will have a shot.

These people have already been "outed" many times. It didn't stick.

How about examining the Mark Foley link to Scientology and Clearwater Fla? Much more ominous IMO.

I really wish that list would disappear. Not because I'm mad that someone is on it. Can't say I'm really surprised by most of them and I notice a couple missing.

But, it is absolutely no one's right to out someone before they out themselves. It disgusts me. It is a very personal decision that involves many factors and a person needs to be mentally ready for the after affects of coming out.

David Corn says..."Let's be clear about one thing: the Mark Foley scandal is not about homosexuality."

It isn't?

The case certainly does involve a good deal of hypocrisy, though. The entire Democratic stance can be distilled to this - "We get to bash gays if they're Republicans." It's that simple.

My prediction is that this will backfire. It's said that Pelosi is absolutely against releasing this list and there is a very good reason for that. If there's one thing gay people hate worse than a Republican against gay marriage it's someone who outs homosexuals against their will.

The left is not only ignorant about conservatives and what drives them to vote, they are also evidently ignorant about what makes non-radical gays angry.

The moral of this story......Liberals are ignorant, PERIOD.

Sen Barbara Mikulski (MD)

Anyone in DC who isn't blind as a bat knows she is a bull lesbian. It is even known that she prefers pretty skinny blonde women (I guess she likes the opposite of what she is).

What is ridiculous about this "List" is that it does not mention so many others who are homosexual (bi or otherwise). For instance, the person standing next to Sen Mikulski below.

My Congressman (which I had long known about) is on the list and I feel no desire to go out and vote for some egg sucking dog of a Democrat

I'm sure that in the spirit of bi-partisanship the Democrat list will be released shortly. /sarc

GOP campaign chief: Sorry for not catching Foley's 'lies'

(CNN) -- The head of the Republican House campaign committee apologized Saturday for not catching Rep. Mark Foley in alleged lies about his Internet exchanges with teen pages.

Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-New York, issued the apology in a TV commercial aired in his Buffalo-area district.

He also reiterated his assertion that he told House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois, about Foley's behavior in the spring. (Watch how the Foley scandal has changed the political landscape -- 2:10 )

"I trusted that others had investigated. Looking back, more should have been done, and for that, I'm sorry," Reynolds said.

"I was told about odd but not explicit e-mails between Mark Foley and a page," he said. "I never saw a single e-mail, not one. Even so, I reported what I had been told to the speaker of the House.

"At the time, I thought I had done the right thing. I have since learned that newspapers in Florida and the FBI had copies of the e-mails for months and that Foley had been confronted about them and lied," Reynolds said.

I wonder if the Dems and the Media would be carrying on in the same manner if a straight legislator was hitting on the young girls via IM or email. What a stupid question--Billy Boy did it. As we all know it has been going on for years!

My my, who is looking out for the children (that should know better)? I would like to hear from the girls about the dirty old men hitting on them. Suppose we can get them on Larry King?

Condidit also comes to mind. Wasn't he a bit kinky? You know a man, any man, hitting on a woman has never been considered predatory but for some reason a gay man or woman looking for a friend and hitting on another man or woman (respectively) doesn't sit right with the general public. According to the MSM it even makes them change their votes or not vote at all. I wonder why?

Since so far Foley has committed no crime, I think the Dems and the Media have exposed themselves regarding their disgust toward homosexuals?
